I FLEW thru this. The entire time i was like…there’s no way that the killer can be that obvious, but then when i was right, it was twist after twist after twist to get to the real end. I was so impressed! The half star docked is only because the first half felt so obvious….haha

This book (particularly the audiobook) FELT like hygge. It made me feel at peace and really consider different hygge-ly things I do already and could integrate easily into my daily life. It also made me long to go back to Copenhagen!!!!!! This has been on my TBR for a while so happy I read it ❤️

I NEVER predict the plot of anything…but this one I clocked from 10 miles away. The characters weren’t memorable and I didn’t really care what happened to them lol. The epilogue actually sucked. This book went down in stars as I wrote this review HAHA

I wanted to love love this, but I didn’t , definitely not as much as I loved the other books of his I’ve read! It all fell a little too nicely into place (even tho I didn’t guess it!).

Actually RAGING. So context - I am not a fan of Lucy foley’s writing. I don’t find it particularly strong and didn’t really enjoy the writing itself in the hunting party and the Paris apartments. I liked the plot, but not the writing. But this book - I loved her writing! And I loved the setup and the premise and the rising action and finally the reveal of who did it! And then boom - it just ended. WHERES THE REST OF THE BOOK? 5 to 3 stars in 1 minute.

I feel like I should rate this higher….but something is niggling at me!!! I don’t know what though…probably bc it’s 5am 😂 I feel like I need more resolution, though? And maybe she shouldn’t just date the guy in a year, even tho it’s implying that they’ll both grow and probably won’t? I have a thousand questions lol

Truly think that this was one of the most beautifully written books I’ve ever read. Loved the characters and loved their adventures. I am so obsessed with the audiobook by Katie Leung as well! This is one of the only books that I’ve felt like I’ve missed some parts and gone back and reread - I didn’t want to miss a thing. I think I listened to four hours 2 or 3 times haha. Such a great read and I can’t wait to recommend to others (including my mom, who beat me to the end!!!).

This started weird but really picked up. I thought it was super well written and I loved the before /after style. I did think that the reveal that our main character did it was sort of ehhhhhhhh, and the book ended quick…but I really liked it!

Liked the last Riley Sager book with the cliff thriller so much that I grabbed another book.  I thought the microcosm of the cul de sac as like its own society was so interesting. Just like with the other thriller I listened to while I read this, I loved the flashbacks and how they slowly built out the day Billy was taken. I didn’t guess who did it either!! And I think that this book did a great job discussing grief on its many levels. Highly recommmend.

This was enjoyable! I quickly made my way thru this. I thought the author did a great job with complex characters that felt flawed and multi-layered like real life people. The flashbacks layered with the present story also worked really well IMO. Plus I thought the main character having to prove herself innocent was a fascinating trope! It was really interesting to have a main character you are rooting for until the very end - and then she has to reckon with herself and right and wrong…and the reader does too bc we are on this journey!
