Four Children and It by Jacqueline Wilson

Jacqueline Wilson's books used to freak me out as an 10 year old, they used to tackle really intense topics and problems people go through. And some of the movie adaptations used to freak me out as well. However, this is probably one of my comfort reads that I've read over 4 times.

It is such a great story with characters everyone can relate to. As well as, this magical It that grants amazing wishes.

A very very very easy read and younger me could never put the book down. This has got to me my favourite of Wilson's works. If you have a younger cousin, sibling, a child, you need to give this to them! My imagination went wild when reading this and I hope yours does too.

Happy reading!

My first proper fantasy read and I loved it!!!!

If you need a song to listen to while reading this book: Amber Run - I Found (original or slowed). This song fits with the overall feel and just creates this intense atmosphere that is so fun to read with.

This book has got to be one of the easiest things I've ever read, I didn't want to put it down - though school made me put it down at certain points. It was so well written that it flowed from point to point and before I knew it, I was at the end of it. I only have the first book so I have to go and buy the other 2 so I can finish this amazing story Alina is on!

I can't wait to watch the TV show, I purposefully didn't watch it until I had read the books because I wanted to see how they compared - the world I created in my head and the one on the screen. However, when reading anything to do with the Darkling, my mind was thinking of Ben Barnes.

Also, I've seen Darkling slander, and I totally understand why considering the fact that he was very manipulative of Alina. But my oh my, his actions and certain phrases he says are very attractive so I find it hard to hate him. He is a great villain and an interesting love interest.

The yearning Alina has for his power is very different from what you normally see in these types of books, it wasn't necessarily him she was drawn to but the power he could give her and the feeling of his power.

At first I wasn't so sure on Mal, I thought he was going to be a bit unlikeable - especially when he didn't try to stop the Darkling from taking Alina. Though as the story went on, I came to love him and his need to protect Alina.

Overall, my favourite fantasy book I have read, actually scratch that, ever. One of my favourite books ever and I implore you to read this! You're missing out on an amazing read!

Same as my first review for this story - underrated.

Though I would never publicly (though this is public), say that this was one of my favourite reads, it is.

The story is one of the quickest I have ever read and it got me back into reading when I was in middle school and "hating" books. The story is really well written and though I'm pretty sure that Zoe Sugg had a ghost writer for the book - that ghost writer did VERY well.

And again as I said before, I'd love to see this book turn into a Netflix movie or TV show.

Please do give this a chance, this is probably my least favourite in the series but that's only because the other 2 are very very good.

Out of the series, this is my favourite!

I like the plot of this one, how we see Penny growing on her own without Noah and discovering life without him in it, and then we see Noah come back into her life, shake things up, but then learn where he has been and what he's been doing. I like the character development for both Penny and Noah, and thought that it was well written.

I'll say it one more time - Netflix, make this into a movie series. Please.

I take back what I said about Shadow and Bone being the best fantasy (though it is number 2), this book takes first place.

The 6 characters were so interesting and layered and overall just great! I love the development of Matthais and Nina, Kaz and Inej, even Jesper and Wayln. Everyone in this book had this dark past or a dark life but they were still so likeable and at some points relatable.

The actual plot was so detailed and well thought out. It truly was a work of art. How Leigh came up with such an elaborate scheme I don't know but it made for an amazing read.

I also love how the heist had weaknesses that were explored and made sense - nothing too outrageous that could never really happen - and added great depth to the plot. The internal fight Kaz had about the boy he once was and the man he is now, created this tense atmosphere. The addition of Matthais' hate, Inej's past, Nina's guilt, Jespers hidden truth, and Wayln's family issues, also added to the tense atmosphere that hung over the entire book.

At some points I was physically cheering with the groups successes and wins, as well as, worrying at their failures or moments of weakness. It was such an amazing read and these characters are some of my absolute favourites I've ever read about. I can't wait to watch Shadow and Bone tonight to see how they've come to life and their role in the plot of Shadow and Bone.

5/5 - had to state it again. PLEASE READ ASAP!!!!

^I need to go and buy Crooked Kingdom after that ending - the story shall continue!

*SPOILERS*
Damn, damn, damn.

My friend read this a while back whilst I was waiting for mine to arrive. Like the amazing friend she is, she didn't spoil anything. And I don't just mean the plot but the overall atmosphere; and when I was reading I was completely taken away.

The writing in this book is so good - with little details, like the sparkling of the sky, or the rolling hills of the glen, and these make the book so much more enjoyable, as well as easy to read. I read this in 3 days, the first day reading 60 pages, the second day 230, and the third day 186. It honestly passed in a rush, but a very good rush.

Not going to lie, this book took a long time to get into to, and that says a lot considering it's only 245 pages. The story itself and the plot is really sweet and has a good message about "everyone has something going on and even though you think they're different from you, you may find you have a lot more in common". I'd say this is perfect for those wanting a quick read - took me one day to read when I actually got involved. Also, perfect for anyone trying to get back into reading. Personally, I had to give it a 3 due to the fact that it was hard to get into and it felt rather short.

Anyway, I would say, this book isn't a must read.

AHHH I LOVE THIS BOOK SERIES, not one of the books has been a let down!

I find it so funny how drastic we've changed from the start to this book:
1. Feyre and Tamlin were the cutest
2. HATE TAMLIN, Love Feyre and Rhysand with a PASSION
3. RHYSAND RHYSAND RHYSAND RHYSAND

Rhysand is the most considerate, kind, romantic, attractive character I've ever read - he embodies the expression "fictional men written by women".

This book was a lot more based on the plot, compared to the second book, which was based mainly on the relationship between Feyre and Rhysand, as well as Feyre and the inner circle. That's why I gave this book a 4. It wasn't that it lacked romance but it wasn't AS amazing as the second book.

Tamlin, however much I hate him, did improve in this book - still don't like him. Lucien was great in this book - love him. Nesta, bit of a bitch but I'll let it slide because of the fact that she was turned into a High Fae. Elain, was a little quiet but again, I'll let it slide. Mor, Cassian, Azriel, and Amren, were amazing as usual.

Everything about this was really good, read it in 3 days and loved every bit of it. Please please please read this!!!!!

Another book completed for the series - and I suppose the final book of the series from Feyre's point of view, though this book had multiple angles and perspectives which I loved. I liked getting to know Cassian more, and why he is the way he is.

This was a great transition book into the next, A Court of Silver Flames, which I shall be starting ASAP. However, since I am reading on an online PDF - since I cannot get the books in time - and spend hours upon hours, looking at my screen. I've decided to start Cruel Prince as I have the paperback.

Again, Rhysand, Rhysand, Rhysand. Love him a lot.

Though this book was very short, it felt complete and well connected to the rest. I will miss hearing Feyre and Rhysand's story - because they're relationship goals - but I look forward to learning about Nesta and Cassian.

100% must read!

Happy reading!
