Wow! I was waiting for this story. We finally got to know who the shadow man is!

Lyla and shadow man are meant to be and they really set the boundaries on a relationship. He’s always protected her deffo sold the touch her you die trope.

This was an emotional rollercoaster and had me crying over nearly every chapter. The twists and turns were so shocking.

I’m so excited for the last book but I also don’t want it to end!

‘Fate is always weaving its threads, Dante. We just don’t see them until our eyes open.’

Tropes:
~childhood lovers
~Soulmates
~forbidden romance
~second chance
~age gap
~she falls first
~he falls harder
~friends to lovers

The Plot:

This story follows Dante and Amara who we met during the first two books. Dante discovers information that shatters his reality and forces him to trigger a lethal game. Amara has loved Dante ever since she was a young child, she gets abducted and tortured for information to which she loses herself, her life and her home. Mysteries are unravelled. Secrets are discovered.

My thoughts:

I loved this book, I was a bit disappointed it wasn’t still following Tristan and Morana as I feel we still have a lot more questions about them such as where is Tristan’s sister? But I did love getting a better understanding of Amara and her trauma. Dante and Amara are meant to be together and so much just keeps happening to them, I just want them to have a beautiful life together.

Writing/pace:

I read this book in 24hours, it was fast paced which helped to keep me hooked in. It shows Amara and Dante over the years they’ve known each other which I thought really created a bigger picture on their lives together. I honestly can’t fault how this book was written.

Characters:

Dante Maroni:

Oh my heart hurts for Dante in this book as he finds out more information about his mother. He’s constantly given so many challenges to deal with that are gut wrenching.

Amara:

Amara is honestly such a strong woman for being able to carry on after everything she goes through and is still going through. There was such a twist at the end of the book which I did not see coming but i think it made her stronger being able to stand up to someone that created a lot of her problems.

Favourite quotes:

~“I will kiss you and brand myself upon your heart, Amara,” he told her quietly. “Just make sure you’re ready for me to.”~

~“You’re the queen on the board, Amara. You’re my most powerful piece, but my most vulnerable. They get you, they get me, and the game is over. So, I’ll do whatever I need to make sure they never get you. Even if that means hiding you like my dirty little secret for the time being.”~

The plot:

Alessandro ‘alpha’ vilanova fought his way to the top, fighting for survival. Zephyr de la vega has a normal life, normal family and normal drama. She stumbles across alpha in a fighting ring and remembers him from her past. SHe wants to make him remember her and he wants to find out who’s killing in his city and framing him.

Characters:
Alpha:

Alpha lost his memory due to someone hurting him and he forgot zephyr. He’s a grumpy broody man. I loved his character and his backstory it’s so sad.

Zephyr:

I love how she just storms into his life and tells him how it’s going to be, pushing his boundaries and she so sassy. I love the banter she has with winding alpha up every chance she gets.

Writing/pace:

This book is very much character driven and this has an impact of the romance. The spice was spicing 🌶️

Tropes:

~ hurt/comfort

The plot:

The reaper, by are you, NYX follow us a story of a character, who becomes entwined with a supernatural world afternoon counter with death. The characters are drawn into a dark and thrilling journey filled with danger, romance and the struggle for survival against malevolent forces. As they navigate this new reality, they must confront their own fears and make choices that could alter their fate and the lives of those around them. The plot weaves together themes of love, loss and the battle between good and evil.

My thoughts:

This is the second book in the series and was so much better than the first one, I’m really glad I read the second one. This one talks more on character development and follows the plot really well. There is a lot of shocking truths in this book that had me on the edge of my seat and I just couldn’t put it down. Tristan Caine really had my heart in this book with his character development. I can’t wait to read the 3rd book in the series where it follows two of the other characters.

Writing/pace:

The writing is just perfect in this book, it’s fast paced but this helps with the excitement and the sense of urgency of the book. I love how the writer uses short sentences to really hook you in, It helps you to keep engaged. The flow of the writing is very smooth between intense moments and character development.

Characters:

Tristan Caine:
In this book we find out more about Tristan and how he has to confront his demons and strive for redemption. His relationships especially with Morana are key to his growth and he has to learn to open up to her more. I love how he learns to balance his darker instincts with the desire to protect those in his inner circle. His inner struggles make him relatable to many people as we see his transformation and the choices he makes along the way.

Morana Vitalio:
Morana is described as fierce, intelligent and resourceful often taking charge of her own destiny, and who doesn’t love a powerful FMC. Morana faces many challenges to test her resilience and determination. Her relationship with Tristan Caine  adds to her character, specifically as they navigate their feelings for each other, while dealing with threats from the outside.

Side characters:

Dante Maroni:
Dante is the son on Lorenzo Maroni and is described as a complex character who plays a significant role in the narrative. He is the heir to the Maroni empire but struggles with this as he wants a better life than the one his father has made for him. He presents challenges to both Morana and Tristan forcing them to confront their own beliefs. His character is funny and easy to get along with. He really starts to look after Morana when she is struggling.

Amara:
Amaras backstory is honestly heartbreaking and contributes to the overall themes of loyalty and betrayal. Throughout the story is really talks about Amaras struggles and her growth making her vital to the plot. Amara becomes Moranas close friend and vice versa and neither of them have had that kind of relationship before. They learn to support one another despite their differences.

Favourite quotes:

~ “Give them hell,” he whispered to her. She smiled. He stared at her smile for a long, long minute, his magnificent eyes glued to her mouth. And the most beautiful, precious thing happened. His cold, aloof eyes warmed. ~

~ For the first time in her life, she felt home. ~

~“Never again. You’ll never be alone again. No matter how bad the nightmare gets, I’m going to be right here.”~

~“I’m so in love with you, caveman.” She saw his eyes flare slightly, his hand coming to rest around her neck, gripping her firmly. “You can’t take that back,” he warned her fiercely.~

."The Predator" by RuNyx is a gripping tale that masterfully blends elements of suspense and romance. RuNyx's writing is both vivid and immersive, drawing readers into the intense emotions and high stakes that the characters face.

The standout feature of this books is the character development. The relationships explored in this story add depth to the plot and keep readers wanting to know more of the outcome. I believe the pace is perfect, it’s well balanced and not too fast paced.

This book is a compelling read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It explores themes of love, betrayal and survival. I found this book really hard to put down and read in in 24 hours.

In this book we’re immersed into the world of two influential families. The Vitalios and the Maronis.

Tristan Caine

Tristan is portrayed as both a protector and a predator which adds to the layers on his personality. His backstory has a troubled past that shapes his actors and motivations throughout the book. Tristan is everything you want in a bad boy; mystery, brooding and haunted by a troubled past. When hearing more about his past I felt a lot of sympathy for him and understanding of the way he way portrayed.

Morana vitalio

Morana is such a strong character, she stands up for herself is a very strong FMC. Her upbringing is what has shaped her into the woman she is today in the book. She had such a fast upbringing into the world and felt a lot of loneliness. She was basically a pawn to her father who kept trying to prostitute her to his friends and humiliate her.

This book is such a captivating read from start to finish; I can’t wait to read the second book in the series to find out more about the secrets and lies. I honestly hope that Tristan and Morana can come together more and open up to each other.

II gave this book a 3⭐️ because I didn’t like the fact it’s got the chapters on who the killer actually is. Therefore it wasn’t suspenseful as I usually like in murder mysteries.

I will be reading the rest of the series just to see if they get any better.

I did enjoy reading about how Bethany digs into the murders and feel like it was followed really well on a true crime murder.

This book is based around the character Sloane. We finally got to see her character development throughout this book which she so deserved! Sloane is the genius in this book series, she is like a human computer with all the facts she knows and how well she is with numbers.
