The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth

Rose and Fern might be twin sisters, but they couldn't be any more different. From a young age, Rose has always been there to help Fern navigate the world. With flashbacks to the past, the reader can glimpse into Rose and Fern's relationship and their relationship with their mother.

I forgot this book was a thriller for a a good chunk of the beginning of the story. However, it most definitely is. It has some great twists, and while I did predict what was going on the closer I got to finishing it, it was still captivating and kept me entertained from cover to cover.

I'm a big Mary Kay Andrews girl, but this was not one of my most favorites reads of hers. She does a good job of blending romance and mystery together, and I love her wittiness. However, this southern chick-lit novel didn't meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I didn't love it as much as I was hoping to.

The romance was cute, and the people that you think are going to end up together do end up together, but I needed more. My main issue with the book was that we had all the players and then boom- they're together. There was no sizzle. There was no build up. It kind of just happened.

The main attraction in this book, in my opinion, is the the mystery behind the old house Hattie and her team are restoring for a new television show and all the secrets that start to come out.

If you liked this book, and maybe even if you didn't, I would definitely recommend giving "Hissy Fit" and "Little Bitty Lies" a try. Those are the two books that turned me into a Mary Kay Andrews fan.

After my disappointment with the last Reese's Book Club pick I read, I can happily say that this book redeemed her book recommendations. It's witty, stylish and fast-paced. It makes the reader question what having the "American Dream" really means.

Be warned: there are big chunk of this book that contain NO quotation marks. There are long portions of this book where Ava is the sole narrator- talking to the police about how her old college roommate, Winnie, trapped her in a counterfeit handbag scheme. When the book switches from Ava's narration to the present-day, everything changes, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

Libby Day's entire family was murdered, and her testimony put her brother, Ben, behind bars for the crime. When a group of crime enthusiasts that think Ben is innocent gets into contact with Libby, Libby begins to question everything and everyone.

This book was a winner in my book. Gillian Flynn creeped me out. She made me scared to put down the book, and turn the light off. She made me want to keep turning the pages until there was nothing left to read. A must read for anyone that loves a good thriller.

I am not a fan of fantasy at all... I mean AT. ALL! But Sarah J. Maas has written my favorite series of all time! This was a 3.75 star read for me.

So why is the rating so low when I'm so in love with these books? This book sets up the entire world that SJM had created. It lays the foundation for everything we need to know. This is not the best book in the series. It's actually my least favorite of all of them, BUT the rest of the books wouldn't be as good as they are without the background this one provides.

Please don't be discouraged by this book and give up on the rest of them. I promise, they only get better from here!

When Elizabeth's mother is murdered, Elizabeth's special needs brother, Ronnie, becomes suspect #1. As Elizabeth works to provide Ronnie's innocence to the police and digs more into her mother's past, she quickly finds out that she doesn't know everything about her mother's past.

This was a 4.5 star read for me. David Bell's writing pulled me in and kept me turning page after page. I love his writing style. I love the tension in the story. I love the mystery. I love the thrill. This is definitely one to read.

YES! YES! YES! This is the best book in the entire series. As soon as I read the last page, I was ready to flip to the beginning and start it all over again!

I have personally never flipped teams so fast, and I take back every negative thing I've ever said or thought about Rhysand. I don't want to say any spoilers, but the way Rhysand and Feyre's relationship comes full circle with things that happened in the first book... I just can't put it into words. My. Jaw. Dropped.

If making it through the first book was rather difficult for you, this second one is the BEST reward for seeing it through.

I could not put this book down. I felt so many things while reading it, and it brought me to tears. This book was everything that I hoped for and more. The second book was good that I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy this one as much, but it was still 5 stars for me! Sarah J. Maas has done it again.

While the second book focused on slowly building the relationship between Feyre and Rhysand, this second book showed how the pair are so better together than they ever could be apart. Not only do I love Rhys and Feyre, but I also love the little family they have built for themselves.

In classic CoHo fashion, she will rip your heart out, break it into a million pieces and put it back together again. Colleen Hoover has such a way with words. The way she puts them together is nothing short of pure magic.

Without including any spoilers, I will say that I loved how this one came full circle from beginning to end. The one criticism I have is that maybe the ending was wrapped up a little too perfectly, but I didn't even really care about that because I was so in love with the story. This one is definitely in my top five CoHo books.

Another 5 star read for me! I have never read a book where the story was written in reverse, but it worked. Dark and twisty and kept me interested from beginning to end.
