This was such an interesting book. All the characters felt so authentic. The story also suprised me as it twisted trough a wast amount of time. Really liked how this author portrayed family dynamics. Would recommend to a friend.

Ok, maybe I just didn't really understand this book. At some points it's kind of funny, because the character says and does such weird things, but it's also quite boring. It goes into such detail about everything that happens in such a short span of time and it is both too much and too little at the same time. After reading it you are kind of left wondering what the point of it all was, except knowing that the character clearly has some issues he has to work through. The language in this book is also terrible, but I also understand that it's meant to be like that.

This was a very good story and it gave me a lot of new knowledge and awareness around topics I haven't looked into enough before. This book started out really strong for me and I enjoyed the characters we started out with a lot, the first 1/3 had me hooked, but as the book progressed we moved onto the next generation and I didn't really feel the same connection to these characters. I think the story just dragged out a bit too much for my taste, I think it should have ended at about 2/3, but I still am really glad I read it because of what I learned.

When I picked up this book I was first very put off by the writing style, but after a chapter I was hooked. I enjoyed the book sooo much until around halfway through when the trial became the main part of the plot. I loved reading about the main characters life and romance, but when the murder trial became the focus it became a little repetetive. Still, I enjoyed the ending and the moral of the story. The whole plot was very unique and I understand very well why this book has been so popular. Would recommend :)

wow, this was an intense read! At some point it felt like the author was trying too hard to shock the reader with intense scenes about druguse etc. but after reading the whole book it honestly made sense. Loved how it left me questioning what was really happening (those feverdream, Mona Awad vibes that Im always looking for). The last 100 pages where so engaging I had to read it in one sitting. Also loved the unraveling of the past through the mc looking through her old photographs. Also really liked the theme of "fetish"- photography. Kind of wished the "twist" would have come earlier as the first 200 pages dragged on a little bit...

This book should really get a new cover, because when I first looked at it I thought it was some romance kind of like the love hypothosis, but its not like that at all. This was such a well written story that reminded me a lot of Taylor Jenkins Reids writing. The plot kept me engaged the whole time, and I found the themes of science, feminism, motherhood and greif. I flew through this book but cant rate it 5 stars bc I didnt feel that deep of a connection to the characters. I felt for her and rooted for her, but couldnt really relate or see myself in her bc of her blunt way of thinking and acting. Would still 100% recommend as it was such a fun read!

I usually don't enjoy books that are only focused on a romance plot, and thought this wouldn't really be like that. I've heard many people loving Emily Henry's books and that her books have romance but also deeper reflections around other themes. Sadly, I didn't feel like that when reading this book. I think I just hate books that have predictable "tropes": enemy to lovers, grumpy and sunshine(?)... I honestly just didn't care about their relationship because you obviously know they will end up together. Idk, maybe I'll try another of her books but I'm not sure if she is my type of author.

I never really enjoy fantasy, but this one was fun. The writing is very clever and I am fascinated by how the author has created this London Below. I really liked that concept and setting. The characters are also very fun. I was a bit confused at what was going on at times, it felt like the mc was just doing things without really any reason, because there were so many different steps to reach his goal, this might've been my fault though... Would recommend this :)

This was a very easy and fast read. Though it shows that the book is intended for a younger audience, I really enjoyed it as an adult. It gives a nostalgic feeling and reflects on real life challenges. In many ways this book reminded me of "The perks of being a Wallflower".

Wasn't 100% sure what to expect from this book as the blurb was quite short. I have seen it recommended a lot though and also really liked the cover so I still wanted to read it. Turned out I really enjoyed it. The narrator really spoke to me and I loved the parts describing how to cook sprinkled in between it all. I also liked the alteration between past and present. A lot of it was really relatable. What didn't make this a 5 star for me was probably that the ending didn't blow me away.
