I stayed up till 4 a.m. to finish this.

I love Colleen Hoover. She just brings out the right emotions from her readers.

I can't wait to read all her works. ❤

Repetitive.

I scanned through the last book and I still had a grip on what's going on.

The Thief of Souls keep visiting Callie in her dreams but they can't do anything about it till they figure who he is exactly. They finally did but still can't do anything till Des disappeared.

Their love was sweet in book 1 till it got too repetitive in book 2. They tease each other with sexual innuendos then they do their kink.

It goes till book 3 that my eyes are just rolling.

Everyone suggested this book as something similar to ACOTAR. The only similarity I find is fae, night king, and mate. Otherwise, the whole series is a 3 star compared to ACOTAR.

3.5

"Let our enemies come, and I will kill them all. So long as you're at my side, cherub, I have something to fight for." -Des

A lot of people in my FB book group suggested this as a book to read when having a book hangover over ACOTAR.

The main guy character does remind me of Rhys. King of Night court pretty much, fae, probably the most powerful ruler of all the Otherworld.

I mean, he did kill or shredded Karnon without getting blood on him.

Callie has been in love with Desmond Flynn since he saved her. The flashbacks were a nice foundation to set the story when they met 7 years later. I was expecting her to resist a little longer and hurt Des (I'm a masochist, I know) because I love a good hurting before they reconcile and profess their love to each other.

I'm glad her capture wasn't stretched into half a book like most books I've read when capturing/abducting by the enemy is involved. Those get boring.

Looking forward to reading book 2. ❤

"Equal in step, equal in heart. For always."

Sweet but predictable.

I was expecting a very twisted tale, I was disappointed

It was an easy read but painful to go through. I couldn't connect with the characters well. Only Genevieve was the interesting character.

It wasn't a far deviation from the original cartoon other than she worked at the palace daydreaming and being meek. Nothing sort of "great love story" feel.

The duke's scheming was a great twist but didn't have great impact. He was just slowly poisoning the king. If it was written as if some council members were scheming with the duke while Genevieve and Cinderella helped the prince. . . it might have worked.

Not so YA but this could have been something I would have enjoyed as a pre-teen.
