SJM does a really great job of hooking you in right at those few chapters of each book. You think you’ll only read a few chapters tonight? Nope! You’re not putting that book down until you’ve eaten up every word.

Throughout the majority of the story, I felt like I was in a murder mystery, but add in some awesome fantasy. From all of her series I’ve read, I was really intrigued with how she entwined so many different fae in one realm. I can’t wait to read the next one!

After HOSAB, I’ll have caught up with all of her series. SJM has my heart right now. I can’t put her books down!

It took me a while to get hooked into it, mostly because I needed to get used to the writing style. At first it felt like sentences were clipped and shortened way too often but I look back now and see why, it’s from Jude’s point of view and she’s constantly in a state of tension it feels like. The world building is amazing and I love how dark yet whimsical it feels. Every time I imagine one of the characters from Faerie, I’m terrified but intrigued all at once. It definitely reminds you how treacherous the fae realm can really be, but Jude is such a badass- I know she’ll conquer them all. Can’t wait to read the next one!

If I could describe this in one image it would be that one bookmark that says “I don’t watch porn, I read it like a fcking lady.”

Outside of its spiciness, the story is okay. There are troubling undertones to the story that may leave you uncomfortable, especially if you’re not new to the religious trauma that is the Catholic Church. Personally, if the pieces that helped make the plot weren’t so dark, I’d like it more. It’s obvious people love this book for its
