Locris is dying, and the only way to save her home is for Lia to put herself in danger. A thousand years ago Liaâs ancestor committed and atrocious crime, so the earth goddess cursed Locris. Now, every year two maidens must travel to Ilion and survive being hunted, if they make it to the goddessâs temple they will be given sanctuary, if not then death. Lia believes is she can make it to Ilion she can find the stone and return it to her homes temple it will save her city. But trouble will find her and having a handsome sailor who keeps showing up doesnât help anything. What will happen once she is Ilion? How will she survive? And will the other maiden survive with her?
This first book in a series was an interesting start. The premise is intriguing and I donât think I realized it was based off of mythology which makes sense. Lia is an interesting character and I appreciate her ingenuity and cunning. Some parts of the book felt a little slow which I think can be attributed to being a fantasy series with an intricate background so it needs the set up. I love/hate the cliffhanger. I appreciate when authors can do a good cliffhanger but also hate them when the next book isnât out yet! I am intrigued and canât wait to see what @sariahwilsonauthor the next book entails.

Harper Sullivan is settling in to running her great aunts bookshop Spellbooks. She has reconnected with an old friend, met a cute Druid, and is now learning to run a sentient bookstore. After the magical issue that happened at opening and Vivienne Silverthorne basically threatening to kick her out of something like that happens again, Harper is trying to be on her best behavior. All she wants to do is enjoy Havenwood and all the Halloween festivals. But when magical pranks start happening Harper has to figure out what is happening before the tourists start to realize itâs not fake. The only way to save Havenwood, its residents, and herself is to solve the mystery.
This was a cute second book. I enjoy a good Halloween/fall themed book and this hit is. The mystery was fun and cute. I love all the new little characters that show up. Ignatius for one is probably my new favorite. The pranks were fun and silly. I enjoyed how it ended and canât wait to read the next one. I am not sure how I feel about the possibility of two suitors but I am open to it. Overall a cute fun book to read for the month of October.

Sabrina Ellis avoids Brandon Blake as much as possibly since he left town after graduation with only a text. He has been back a few times since but she tries not to interact with him. Now, she must work with him to renovate his familyâs Bed and Breakfast The Peculiar Pumpkin. With Sabrinaâs dad out of commission, she has to work with Brandon alone and hopefully not get sucked back into the relationship they once had. Brandon is ready to get out of Falling Leaves, Virginia again. He is only here to make sure the Pumpkin gets renovated like his mom wanted and then he can sell and be gone. But seeing Sabrina again and interacting with her sparks something. But then, potential new buyers think they are together so to make sure they wonât back out Brandon asks Sabrina to pretend to be his girlfriend. Sparks fly between them , but will they get their hearts broken again? What happens when Brandon sells and he goes back to Washington DC?
I love a good reno especially in a fall/halloween themed town. It was fun to see a woman contractor and have her dadâs full support, even renaming the business to Ellis and Daughter. I liked Sabrina and Brandon both and thought they were cute together. The other characters were interesting too. I like the sheriff who is also Sabrinaâs roommate. The one thing I am unsure about is it didnât seem like Sabrina and Brandon ever really talked about him leaving with just a text message. That was a big deal for Sabrina so not to really address it was odd to me. Overall a cute fun fall romance read!

Cassidy St. Claire is having a very awkward moment at her new job. A few months earlier while on a girls trip she had an amazing one night stand. Now, that man is the director of the movie she is doing costuming for. She has never had great luck with men and now this. Josh Graham isnât one for relationships. He enjoys the women he sees every once in a while. But a short, beautiful, curvy woman visiting kind of blows his mind. And now she is in his set. The move he has been wanting to create for years. He canât let anything distract him. Because of that he agrees to help Cassidy get over the type of men she always seems to attract. But of course that isnât how life works out.
This was a cute romance that was a quick and easy read. I really felt for Cassidy when she talks about her friends moving forward with their lives with wedding and kids. That hit home for me. I thought Cassidy was an interesting character but wasnât really the biggest fan of Josh. I donât know what but there was just something a bit eh about him for me. But the story was fun since I donât know much about the movie industry so that was fun. Also I did like the epilogue, I thought it was different from the typical epilogues in romance novels.

Thank you to the author Allison Giordano for my ARC of this book!
Tempest is a normalish girl. She goes to school, gets good grades, has a friend, and is unsure of what she wants to do with her life after school. When she goes to a camp for the night with her school, she didnât realize how it would change so much. That the reason her aunt was overprotective was because of a world she didnât know existed. That creatures believed to have been a part of myth were actually true. And itâs because of one person, Jet Delancey.
Jet Delancey has always wanted to be a part of the League of Protectors. The supernatural version of the police. When chaperoning a camp visit for the school, he meets Tempest, and something is off about her and her scent. After saving her from an attack from a supremacist group, he needs to make sure she stays safe. And that means her going to Versi.
What is happening in the supernatural community, and what does it have to do with Tempest and her parents who died a few years before? Will Tempest figure it out? Will Jet be able to keep her safe and find out what is happening?
This book was a great debut novel. The premise is interesting with the supernatural community and how everything is connected with the myths and legends. I enjoyed Tempest and Jet. I thought they were interesting characters and had an interesting dynamic. I am mad at the author though and if she sees this itâs because of the ending with the one person and I wonât spoil it but you know what I am talking about. The idea of a school and community being there for supernaturals is fun but I do wonder if they take normal classes too since they do interact with the regular world. Like how does that work? Overall this book is a fun debut and I canât wait to read any subsequent books!

Harper Sullivan is excited because it looks like she is finally able to settle and put down roots. Even if itâs because of something sad. Her great-grandmother Beatrice âBeaâ Sullivan has passed and Harper is on her way to Havenwood to take over her bookshop. Havenwood is a town created for magical creatures but regular people can visit due to the spell around it. But thatâs neither here nor there. Harper arrives to find her great-grandmotherâs bookshop has been broken into and her most expensive books stolen. Before she can figure that out she finds out she might not inherit the bookshop. A cousin she never knew and her self have to come up with the best plan for the shop and the lawyer will make a decision in a week. Harper decides her best bet for winning is to find the books. Follow her, Luna the talking rabbit, and the other people of Havenwood as Harper tries to solve the mystery and hopefully be able to settle down.
This book was adorable! I love a good cozy mystery and this fits the bill. Itâs got a fun mystery, a love interest, and magical creature. I think the magical creatures is such a fun addition to it. I love the town of Havenwood and all that it can bring. The characters are fun and different. The one hang up I had was I wasnât sure of time passing because it seemed like only a few days but others seemed like it could have been longer. Overall, if you want to read a fun cozy mystery this one is great!

Shira is returning to Terra, Spain for a work trip. Terra was where she spent one summer and fell in love. Then left brokenhearted. And now that she is back she is hoping not to run into Alejandro Leon. But that is not in the stars, and he is more handsome than he was ten years ago. After spending some time together they agree to a no string fling, but can Shira keep her heart safe from the person she once loved?
This was a cute book. Shira was an interesting character and I did kind of connect with her and what she was going through a bit. Some of the side characters did annoy me, but that was fine. I wish there was more with the Leon family. And I think it would have been interesting to have Alexâs POV. Overall a fun, easy, summer read for when you want to travel but canât.

Lucy Bowen has returned to Thundersville after college and plans to open a bakery. Her family has always been her number one supporter and that includes her brotherâs best friend Cam. Lucy has secretly had a crush on him since she was a kid; but she knows that he only sees her as a kid sister. So, Lucy plans to move on from Cam but thatâs easier said than done. Especially when he is always there to help her with her bakery. But as they spend more time together Cam starts to see Lucy in a new light. And maybe for the both of them to be happy they will have to take a chance on each other; no matter what others think.
This was adorable. Lucy was sweet if a bit too trusting. Cam was definitely a playboy who recognized it. I loved the two characters. The story itself was cute. I did wish there was a bit more, not sure what but something. Overall a cute quick read with no third act breakup.

Savannah Chase is having a terrible day. She has been arrested and now has to call the one person she doesnât want to to bail her out. Warren Farrow is the towns golden boy that everyone loves. But Savannah had a terrible first date where he tried to make his ex jealous. So, I guess she will call him. After get reprimanded by her boss, they seem to warm up to her once they hear she is dating Warren. So, Savannah decides to ask him to fake date so she can prove to her bosses that she is worth having around. Warren agrees, but only because he really likes her and wants to show her what she could have. How will the fake dating go?
This was a cute book. I enjoyed the main characters. Her family sucked so much, though we didnât get much of her parents. I loved seeing her grow and get a found family. The people she surrounded herself with were lovely. I would have liked more fake dates because it seemed like there was one maybe two and for a fake dating book it didnât have enough of that. Also Jo third act breakup! Overall super cute and fun read.

Willow was always the good girl who didnât ask questions and did what she was told. Until one Halloween she went to a graveyard party. There she meets a mysterious young man. That leads to her father going missing and her having to visit family she never knew about. Going to her motherâs family to figure out what was going on leads to her learning about a family curse. A curse that traps anyone who does on the property there and any family member who is buried there. Willow must figure out what the curse means to break it or risk the same fate. She will have the help of two spirits Alexa and Edgar, but with everyone still keeping secrets how much help will they be?
This was a good first book in this series. The concept is super interesting with the family curse. I enjoyed that aspect very much. Though I wish there had been more of her going into the tombworlds. It was such an interesting concept and wanted too see more of it so hopefully it will be in book two! Overall if you want something with some spice, ghosts, curses, and some other supernatural elements check this quick read out!
