Book: Twin Torment
Author: Sundari Venkatraman
Genre: Romance Novella
Rating: 3.4
Pages: 129(Kindle)
Twin torment is a short Romance Novella by author Sundari Venkatraman. The story revolves around the main protagonist Sanya, living in London with her parents, Diwakar and Bindiya. Earlier, before shifting to London, they lived with the Sharma family: Shantanu and Ratna and their twin children, Arth and Ansh.
Sanya has a crush, a one-sided love towards Arth, her childhood sweetheart. But her relationship with Ansh was just terrible. They have been enemies and Ansh had not missed a single chance to trouble her when they were children.
The story progresses when Sanya came to Mumbai again for a visit to Sharma's house and how the equations between the childhood connections change.
The thing I loved most about this book was how the passion is being represented here. I love the way how Sanya puts her efforts towards her passion and how a mutual understanding between people works when they want to pursue their dreams. In today's time when we hear so many stories about how someone leaves or keeps aside their passion and dream for a relationship, this was something which I want to read because this is how it should have happened.
Also, one of the most important things in a relationship is patience. Patience, to wait for the partner to live their life in the way they want. Also, giving them the mutual space they need. And this was also one thing that I loved about this book because it is represented beautifully in the story. And one more thing which is shown delightfully here was parents. The way they think and act is something which we all can feel and connect.
There were some things if included in it could have been more spectacular. Like, if the character of Arth have been explored a little more and his point of view have been added, it would have been more interesting to read.
Overall, the story shows pleasingly how can someone's childhood decides their behaviour towards someone and how with time, things change and so do the people. Go with the book if you want to read some light, short, romantic, and hot romance because it has some elements of hot romance in it.

I don't think people understand the things how they are. They understand it from a perspective of who they are.
~The other side of silence, Prashanth Chakkula
Book: The other side of silence
Author: Prashanth Chakkula
Pages: 90
Genre: Thriller and Suspense
Rating: 4/5
The other side of silence by Prashant Chakkula is a short thriller and suspense story of around 90 pages. The main protagonists of the story are Chaarvi and Rishi. Both of them are looking for a flat and so visit a building for the same to have a look. There was an accident that happened with them which started changing their life completely.
The thing which I like the most about the book is that the protagonist Chharvi is a bibliophile and I love all the characters who read. And here, Chharvi has a problem that she starts connecting the characters of the book to real-life people. So both Rishi and Chharvi visit the doctor and she told that for some bibliophiles, this thing excites them but for her, it haunts them. She prescribed some things for Chaarvi and then they leave.
Also, as the book is very short, so I cannot reveal the name of other characters and their role in the story but I can tell that another story emerges from the story itself and it changes everything. The side characters play an important role in the story and so, make it more thrilling.
The story is well developed, the characters are strong, the plot is amazing and my most favorite is the thrill and suspense. From start to end, the story has an astonishing, mind-blowing suspense part it in and the thrill it gives was phenomenal.
If the editing have been a little better, it would have been great but believe me, the story has the power and the editing part will not hinder the story, suspense, thrill, and the emotions it gives.
As a debut book, the author has done a commendable job and I am looking forward to reading more work by the author.
If you are a beginner who wants to read some short, thrilling, and suspense book, you can go with it. Also, if you are in a slump or looking for a short book, go with it.

BOOK REVIEW
Book: Yugantar: The dream of Bharatavarsha takes shape 2300 years ago
Author: Raghavan Srinivasan
Pages: 272
Genre: Historical fiction
Rating: 4.3/5
Yugantar by Raghavan Srinivasan is a historical fiction book having the elements of Economic History, Ancient history, history of religion, and history of medicine and set around the fourth century BCE, around 2300 years ago as mentioned in the title.
I will not talk much about the story of what it is about and not about the characters because if I will start, then it would be spoilers for sure. So added the synopsis at the end of the review so that you can know what it is about.
The book is divided into two parts: First: The gathering storm and second: The storm. I was supposed to like the second part more but I liked the first one. It is because in the first part, all the stories of the characters progress parallelly, mostly independent of each other, and watching all the characters blooming and growing was more interesting. All have their problems, aims, ways of achieving and tackling them, and a story that captivates more attention. While in the second part, all the parallel stories meet and start progressing linearly with a common aim, the way of achieving and their contribution was different, but the ultimate aim was the same.
There are so many characters in the story and as many stories start parallelly, it takes some time to get into the story but as soon as you get it, the story is not going to leave you easily. Not even at one page of the 272-page long book, you will feel like it is boring or you can skip it. No. The story is interesting, captivating, remarkable, and breathtaking. I love how the characters emerged. Each character is strong and each character has the power to attract you towards themselves and make you wander with them with the story.
As the title says that the dream of Bharatavarsha takes shape 2300 years ago, the author has shown it very well. Either talking about language, medicine, travel, and exports, everything is talked about here. By reading the story, it is evident how much study and research is done by the author which is commendable and should be appreciated.
The only thing which could be a little better was the ending but it does not mean it is bad. It is astonishing but could have been a little better.
The cover of the book is so beautiful and captivating and also, it's related to the story as well.
I am a beginner in Historical fiction itself and I loved it. The language is nice and easy to read and you will not feel like you are reading some ancient text or theory about history. So, if you are a beginner for historical fiction and want to read this genre, I will highly recommend this book to you, you will love it.
Synopsis'
The fourth century BCE is full of dangers and opportunities. Old republics are giving way to empires and cities. ‘Naastik’ sects are challenging the established varna system. The intellectual life of India is bristling like new shoots after the monsoon. The domination of the Kshatriyas and the Brahmanas is being challenged. State power is up for grabs. And the Macedonians are at the gates! Most people believe that Bharatavarsha is only a dream. But not the Yugantar, a brotherhood of the wisest and most selfless thinkers of ancient India. Interesting turn of events bring ordinary people from different parts of the subcontinent into the fold of the Yugantar -- a rebel blacksmith from Ujjayini, a Siddha doctor from Madurai; a doughty mariner from Muziris; a trader from Pataliputra and a widow nun from Kaushambi. They represent a microcosm of the sub-continent. Each of them is drawn towards the Yugantar by a strange turn of events. Each has a prowess which the Yugantar can mould into a formidable force. They converge in Takshashila, the centre of learning and transformation. This is the story of how their wit and determination contribute to a united Bharatavarsha.

Book: The Definite Part Of Indefinite Life
Author: Ankita M. Hundekar
Genre: Contemporary fiction
Pages: 200
Rating: 3/5
The definite part of indefinite life by Ankita M. Hundekar is a story about the main protagonist, Aanya. Aanya is a girl young budding writer and her only aim was to become a great author. Her parents are supportive and her friends are as lovable as she can expect.
Then one day, Aarav, a distant relative of Aanya entered her life and their friendship bloomed. But calling a best friend is different and being a best friend is different. How the equations will change place when the difficulties will approach their life? What will happen when Pratharv, Aanya's childhood friend and a best buddy will get to know about this. To know it, read this book.
The friendship in the story was represented beautifully, especially between Aanya and Pratharv and the main theme and plot of the story are also about friendship. Apart from Pratharv, Dhriti was a side character in the story, but she has enough capabilities and qualities which can be explored more. Honestly saying, I loved Pratharv and Dhriti more than Aanya and Aarav.
At one point in the story, an excerpt from Savi Sharma's "Everyone Has A Story" was given and her name was mentioned and I can feel the connection between Savi Sharma and the author of this book in writing style. I don't know if this book was inspired from earlier, but I could feel the connection.
If the editing of the book have been a little better, it could have been a better experience while reading. Also, at some points, while reading the book, I got confused about the equations shared by the protagonists. At some points, it felt like it is only friendship but at others, it felt like more than it. Also, if the point of view and thoughts going on in Aarav's mind had been shown a little clearer, it could have been better.
Overall, it was a good one-time read. The language of the book is simple and beginner-friendly. If you are an absolute beginner and want to try some good, light, and easy read about friendship, you can give it a chance.

It is rightly said that the journey is always more important than the destination. Memories of destination might change with upcoming new destinations but the memories of the journey never fade away. Sometimes, we reach a destination that is not in our imagination, sometimes it mesmerizes us, sometimes disappoints. If the end did not go as we thought but the journey is beautiful, the trip becomes memorable.
BOOK REVIEW
Book: A love so special
Author: Deepak Srivastava
Genre: Contemporary fiction
Pages: 188
Rating: 4.6
A love so special by Deepak Srivastava is a contemporary fiction having the main theme of family and relationships. The story is about the main protagonists Nikhil and Neha, both broken in their ways and have their traumatic past. But as said the sometimes, broken pieces together make a complete masterpiece, the same thing happened here. While Nikhil has faced a horrible accident in his childhood and kept running from his family, Neha has to work hard and break stereotypes to keep her family safe and secure.
Riya and Raghu are the children of Nikhil and Neha. When they both entered their life, all the missing places in their life completed. But with time, they got to know that Raghu is a specially abled child. And one day, he goes missing. The story then continues from here which takes many twists and turns. To know what happens next, do read the book!!!
The writing style of the author surprised me. As a debut author, Deepak Srivastava stole my heart completely with his writing style. From portraying the characters in a meritorious way to making the story ground to earth, the author has done a commendable job.
The story was completely a roller coaster of emotions. I haven't expected the emotional part of the story so early but I adore it. I was easily connected with the characters, their journey, and their emotions. The theme and plot overall worked well and the title also resonates well with the story.
The only thing that I did not like about the story was the last plot which I will not tell what it was because it would be a spoiler but it is my personal opinion. The plot is powerful and many ones can like it but it did not work for me. But as I said at the beginning itself that the journey is more important than the destination, and the journey of this book was so heartwarming, emotional and cherishing, that it is worth reading.
I will recommend it to everyone who is looking to read some contemporary fiction and yes, it is completely beginner-friendly.

Book: I Am Me
Poet: Mehak Varun
Genre: Poetry
Pages: 117
Rating: 3.7/5
I Am Me by Mehak Varun is a short poetry collection divided into three parts: The Killing Instinct, Hope, and The Power Within. But before the starting of the poetry, there are two interviews of the author, first with Dr. Kiran Bedi ( India's First Woman IPS Officer) and second with Dr. Seema Rao ( India's Wonder Woman) and both the interviews are power-packed with motivation and inspiration.
In the book, some poems have a rhyming scheme while some are in free verse. There were some poems with which I feel very connected while some were just plain for me.
As the book progresses from the first part to the third part, my love and connection towards them also progress. I loved the third part, the power within the most. Most of the poems in the collection were written by having women at the center and it is the specialty of the book. The poems have deep meaning and a sense of freedom in them which I loved.
There are many illustrations in the book, illustrated by the poet herself which are gorgeous. Also, the cover of the book is eye-catching and engaging.
Overall, the book was engaging and the poems were appealing and attractive. If you are someone who is looking to start reading poetry, you can definitely try it out.

Book: All About Romantic Love
Author: Dr. Govind Sharma
Genre: Non-fiction ( Family and relationship)
Pages: 110
Rating: 4.35/5
All About Romantic Love, A three-sixty degree view of relationship by author Dr. Govind Sharma is a short book that revolves around love as mentioned in the title.
The book discusses every aspect of love. How people are attracted towards each other, how chemicals and hormones in our body play a vital role in it, what happens after someone gets into a relationship, what are the important factors that keep a relationship alive, what is a toxic relationship, how mental health effects because of this and everything that revolves around this topic.
There are four fictional case studies given in the book which I adore the most because when information and things you want to tell and convey are portrayed by a story, the connection with the information has a deep and long-lasting effect. The information than feels more interesting, engaging, and intriguing, and not some feel like facts. And that's why I liked that portion most. The case studies here tell important and key factors that help to keep the relationship alive if it's not toxic and how to identify toxic relationships.
This is a short but power-packed book rich in content. I will recommend it to everyone who wants to know more about relationships and the psychology behind them. I will say it is essential reading. The language of the book is also simple so it is beginner-friendly too.
