Amazing book! I am so glad I got to learn about the Gustoff ship. This book did an amazing job humbling me and helping me see how hard people in WW2 had it. There was tragedy throughout the book, but it had a hopeful note at the end. Literally such an amazing novel.

I could see attempts at a message and theme, but they didn't hit.

No plot, just vibes. I would give it a 2/5 because there was absolutely minimal character development, but it really did entertain me so it gets a 3/5. I enjoyed the attempt at character development, but it was lacking.

It took a long time to get super interesting and the twist was interesting but didn't make up for the slow development for the majority of the book.

The book is not written perfectly, but it is easy to read and has lots of important bits of knowledge. It is inspiring.

It would have gotten a 4/5 if it weren't for the ending being that she sort of magically gets better. It is explained and some things make sense as to why she gets better, but I don't know, it didn't feel correct to me. It was a pretty funny book though!
