a really fun saga, great action, worldbuilding and i did like Hulks character here, regardless of his ridiculous power level

i do think the ending is a bit rushed, its meant to set up world war hulk but i think it would benefit from having been separate from planet hulk and sort of inbetween the two

carlo pagulayan is really underrated, i loved his work on Deathstroke and this may be even better

its just plain old action packed fun, JRJr draws some really good action scenes and especially good sound effects, thank god this was before his decline. definitely not as good as Planet Hulk, but i appreciate it for what it is and thats basically just Hulk vs the Marvel Universe

it did give me false hope that the Sentry is actually important but nope he appears in like only 5 other books lol

just good old garfield, masterful cartooning and hilarious jokes. I will say, i own the Garfield classics printing of this and the paper quality is lovely, as well as the colouring

really funny and creative palindromes, including the actual story which can be read backwards and forwards

the art is really really charming, and my favorite part of the book, simplistic colours, simple designs and linework but the landscapes are also enchanting, like the little garden area or final page of the book

my favorite palindrome was “even id order a red rodin eve”

quite possibly the most beautiful book i own, i thought Campbells artwork would be too much for a comic book, as he pumps his heart and soul into literally every building, vehicle and plant, but my god it worked out, it really worked, some of the most beautiful environments ive seen, with equally amazing characters designs and rendering, its almost like the Spiderverse artstyle, but unique enough for Campbell to call his own

The story was fantastic too, i havent read the broken earth trilogy but its clear that Jemisin is really really good at worldbuilding, and the actual plot is also really thought provoking, its a dystopian sci-fi noir, and i’ve read my fair share of dystopian books but this one never felt like any others, it was totally original

Jo is an incredibly relatable character because after all she’s just trying to do the right thing but is constantly brought down by the world, something i think anyone can relate to, shes also such a badass! her ring is the coolest looking and at one point she creates a gundam suit!

my only gripes are that the pacing wasnt the best, i did read this in one sitting but it didnt have me completely immersed all the way through, i think this would be well suited to be read in doses, as every issue starts with a catch-up, which i appreciate even though i dont read in floppies, but if i did that would be a lifesaver

i throw around the term peak fiction a lot but this time i actually mean it, such strong emotions are conveyed with equally beautiful artwork, artwork simple enough to show you what every character is feeling yet still holds so much detail

its not the most exciting story, its just people living their lives, but it seriously had me hooked

Sam Keiths artwork is brilliant and works well with this kind of story which is Batman tripping on mushrooms (or any psychedelic)

but unfortunately thats all this is, just Batman in wonderland and besides Batman actually being in it, i dont think theres much to even convince you its a Batman book

the premise is interesting admittedly, having Batman take a trip through wonderland, with prominent figures taking the place of wonderland characters and the mad hatter being the villain, and they could even adapt the Celia character but make us actually care about her and show that she actually is a childhood friend

positives for being a mad hatter story, he doesnt get much appreciation nowadays

its just so good man. a lot of people dislike Supermans design here, but i personally love it, hes big and muscular yet still so friendly

Tim Sales artwork peaked here in my opinion, in no small part due to the magnificent colouring done by Bjarne Hansen, just the way the sky and buildings around it are depicted, and how Superman always a has a trail of red blue and yellow behind him, its all so awesome

the story itself is also so.. kind? its so simple and down to Earth its hard not to love, it goes into why Superman does what he does, and how important the Kents are to Supermans ideals, it also does a great job of showing of Smallville as Clarks home, everyone knows who he is there.

Another theme explored that not a lot of people talk about is his alienation, he visits Smallville after feeling lonely and out of place in Metropolis which i think is very realistic and totally something he’d do

overall this is a beautiful story and up there with All Star for me

this was awesome, Vader was as menacing and intimidating as ever while not being an unstoppable monster. I think it was pretty awesome seeing him create his own lightsaber and also the fact that he’s still battling between the light and dark side, which makes his fall into the version of him in the OT much more believable
I’m also glad there wasnt any internal monologuing, because thats kind of predictable and takes away from a lot of the mystique behind Vader
The art was spectacular and almost cinematic at times, with beautiful landscapes and spaceships, and Giuseppe Camuncoli draws Vader in such a beautiful way too

Jocasta Nu is a much more interesting “villain” than the last books master Infil’a, she actually has a goal and purpose within the world and is honestly pretty badass too

I do think its weaker than volume one, but still brilliant nonetheless. Giuseppe Camuncoli is still a master at what he does, there are plenty of clones and droids here that look awesome and Vaders meditation “dimension” full of lightning and butterflies looks awesome as a backdrop to the even more awesome design of Vader meditating, with a charred torso and head and white limbs that were cut off

Vaders just really cool man
