4 stars! I loved how at the end everything became intertwined and connected. Definitely a dark and twisty chain or events! Absolutely didn't expect the one perpetrator to be who it was either. At all. All of my theories were wrong
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

I listened to this on audiobook. The narrartion was phenomenal and I'm so glad I chose it in this format. I was hesitant at first with this book and wanted to choose it for my BOTM subscription, but passed at the time. I am glad I ended up doing the audio version !
What a realistic, heartfelt, emotional, just wonderful story. We learn about a bank robber who ends up taking a group of strangers hostage. But that's not the focus of the story. The focus is about human nature. Who we truly are. Who we seem to be to other people. Who we are battling day to day; family, loved ones, ourselves. What is going on in our minds, our world, our lives and how this impacts every decision we make, whether it be for the good of our own self or for someone else.
This book is relatable and realistic and many times I found myself saying, YES so true! And laughing out loud at some things because it's as if Backman recorded something I would have said myself.
I just absolutely loved this book. Every emotion was felt. Sadness. Empathy. Anger. Frustration. Happiness. This book got me out of a serious audiobook slump. A MUST read/listen!

This one of my BOTM selections and I'm super glad I chose it! It was an intense and thought provoking read about what goes on in Native American reservations and the devestating reality of what they're forced to do to get things taken care of and accomplished. This was a family drama book with a fantastic story line. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and the twists at the end were intense. A fantastic debut novel and I'd definitely be intrigued if this author ever puts out anotjer!
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

Listened to this on audiobook! It was a phenomenal listen. Between the different voice actors and listening to what sounded like actual phone calls. One of the best narrations I've listened to! This mystery truly kept me guessing the whole time and the theories I had were not right. Could have been predictable, but it wasn't to me! Really enjoyed it!
The Girl in the Mirror by Rose Carlyle

Definitely lots of twists and suspense! A very good psychological thriller although I wish there wasn't so much talk about the ship and sailing, I felt like after so much it became unnecessary
Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan

Listened to this on audiobook. It was nice listening to the author narrate, but she was very monotone and didn't make for the best listening experience. That being said, the story was phenomenal. As a nurse myself, I immediately thought she was schizophrenic. It's interesting to see how closely the symptoms mirror each other. Learning about her disease was fascinating and I'm glad she got the proper interventions finally.

Listened on audiobook and the audiobook was phenomenal! Loved the full cast, the way the podcasts were done and the realness of it. The story itself was pretty gripping, but also felt very repetitive. I really enjoyed it though.
