This is a historical romance I could get behind! It was super easy to read and I flew through the pages; I loved every minute of it! Emily Rath writes ‘why choose?’ romances so well, and I definitely found this read to be a super comforting one. If you love historical romances with a side of ‘why choose?’ this is definitely the read for you!
Omg this book was EVERYTHING! I really enjoyed this book from the first sentence. It was so sweet, but also had a little spice and so much heart. I really related to Lottie and this book got me super emotional (I don’t cry, but I teared up reading this). If you want an accidental marriage in a small town romance, this one is for you!
- fast paced
- really easy to digest
- fits really well into the dystopian genre
- some behaviour that would be frowned upon today, but was completely normalised at the time this book was written; gross but I kept that in mind upon reading
- i was okay with the ending i guess.
I absolutely love reading, history and tattooing and found this book to be really well researched and insightful look into the art and history of Indigenous tattooing traditions. This was a really educational read and further grew my understanding of traditions in cultures that I was not aware about. This is one I’ll definitely continue to revisit.
This was my first ever novel from Paisley Hope, and I can see why her books are so hyped on social media. My first introduction to a biker romance definitely did not let me down and I enjoyed every page turn. If you’re a fan of Sons of Anarchy, you’ll definitely enjoy this one!
I love a YA thriller/mystery dark academia book and was so excited to read this one. Jennifer Niven was an author whose books I read as a teen and I was excited to revisit with her latest release. This one had some elements that I really enjoyed and find myself hooked in. But, there were some things that fell flat, like the ending. Also, as a teacher and someone who’s entered their mid-late 20s, I really get uncomfortable with sex scenes in a YA book. Like I’m not naïve and know what teenagers get up to, but I appreciate a fade to black over some detail in scenes with teenagers.
This was my first Rina Kent book and I knew it would have darker elements going into it. I will say for any reader wanted to pick up a Rina Kent book, please check the TW’s because I was prepared when reading this one and wasn’t at shocked when it scenes happened or things were mentioned. I feel like the M/M relationship could’ve been executed a lot better, which was my main let down and maybe some of the more triggering content could’ve been done just a tiny bit better? But other than that, I flew through this book and would be open to reading more books by this author in the future.
