if you’re a fan of movie romances (even if it’s the people working behind the scenes) then this one is for you. however, i’m not a big fan of them and found this book to be okay. i do appreciate that the miscommunication between xavier and sutton was short lived and did like their chemistry together (but it wasn’t super memorable). the only time i was slightly hooked was at the beginning of the book and that was it.

This book was heartbreaking but so so good. I get hesitant reading music artist trope books and did find the first bit of this book cringe with the boy band archetype. But once I pushed through that, I adored this book. Ashley Poston is officially an autobuy/autoread author for me because this book solidified it. Poston does magical realism well and it’s always done so uniquely, it doesn’t feel repetitive. If you like music and small town romances, this one is for you!

loved this book!

Taylor Jenkins Reid hasn’t failed me yet. I don’t read much books involving space, but I really enjoyed this one. TJR always has a unique non-linear approach to writing that I always fall in love with and this one was no different. I was transported into this read and had to keep turning the page. The ending to this was almost heartbreaking, but I’m glad that there was a bit of hope at the end.

If you love TJR, definitely read this one!

A insightful and helpful read.

LOVED this book

Loved this book!!

An insightful book on Palestinian resilience and the genocide that is happening.

The spice was written well, but it was weird to think about a sentient door.

I also found some of the dialogue and transitions to be a bit nonsensical.

If it was written a lot better, I probably would’ve liked it more.

When Dettmann read a brief section of her book when I attended an Allen & Unwin event back in February, I was definitely interested in reading more. I actually quite enjoyed it and found myself feeling an array of emotions throughout my time reading. There was the miscommunication trope towards the end of the book, which was a bit of a let down for me.
