I was looking forward to this book so much. I read it pretty much in one day. I am 100% in love with small town romances and who doesn't love a cowboy??? Griffin is my new book boyfriend, I am in love. This was a small town romance whith a murder mystery thrown in. They were split equally with the plot and I have to say this had me hooked from the first chapter. The characters weren't perfect and developed as the story did. There was great spice but not overwhelming amounts, it was more about the story, the romance and the murder. It was a fantastic easy read with loveable characters. It made me want to move there in a heartbeat and jealous that I wasn't part of the Eden family.

If you loved the Knockemout series (Things we never got over) by Lucy Score you will love this series.

This is not a book a I would usually choose to read, but a gorgeous cover and a request from a lovely bookstagram lady to do it as a buddy read. Why not?

At first I wasn't sure, but it kept me drawn in enough to keep reading. I am so glad that I did. We follow Nina and he beautiful siblings, famous and absent fathers, and a love sick mother. It delves into a world of the rich and famous as well as surviving poverty (and just getting by). Nina has to learn to grow up quickly and learn what it is to be a parent when there is no other option. This family explores love, loss, found family, affairs, alcoholism, fame, fortune, and poverty. It explores what family and each members' identity are within it. We learn what it is to be strong and confident females through Nina, Kit and June. But also what it is to be children of a rick star who is never around.

This book is beautifully written and the landscape is described equally a beautifully. The characters are well rounded and the plot is fast pace. We get multiple timeliness and POV, yet the book flows without being clunky.

I really enjoyed this book (even though there was minimal spice). It had me up until the early hours finishing it.

We follow the lives of Alex ( a single documentary maker) and her best friend Lorrie ( loving wife and mum of two who works for the council). This is a modern day in the life of Lorrie, who just when you think her day couldn't get worse it does. We see a glimpse into the hardships that both these strong, beautiful women face in an effort to deal with mental health and what society  throws at them. It delves into what decisions women have to face both in the workplace, in the home and in society. In the end it is a out honesty, trust, friendship, personal values and beliefs and supporting each others differences without judgement. The characters were likeable and the book was well paced and overall an enjoyable read.

Well, @kate.schumacher.writer, what a triumph this book is. It is one of the most beautifully written and whimsical books I have read in a very long time. I fell in love with this book from the start.

This book is all about the setup for the series, but keeping your full attention at the same time. You could call it a slow burn. However, it needs to be. This is all about building the stunning world in which our three main characters live and discover. There is some spice, but without being too descriptive, it is more about romance and character development. We follow these three characters as they discover who they are and where they come from. As we do so, we learn about the world they inhabit, the religions, the magic, and the prophecy, as well as exploring arthurian mythology. I can not express how much I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the remaining books when published. It has all the tropes such as energy.ies to lovers, multi POV, faeries, magic ,pirates, religion, murmaids, and syphon as well as some spice.

There are some triggers to be aware of :
1. Non- consensual scene
2. Religious discrimination
3. Physical assault
4. Violence
5. Forced marriage
6. Intolerance

This is a 100%

After finishing The call of the sea, I couldn't get enough of Kate's stunning writing. So, I started straight away on Shadow of flame. Was I disappointed??? NO WAY!!!!

This book had me hooked from the get-go, yet again, it was the writing. Then it was the characters and then the story. Kate knows how to build worlds and flesh out her characters. The story is complex, but as she builds the many Characters ( their stories/ relationships) and the world they live in, you can't help but be enthralled. This book is a clear setup for what's to come in book 2. However, the story is still there, and it's strong. It gives you fight sequences, battles, banter, romance, magic, and friendship, and makes the question their trust and loyalties. It had me shouting at one of the characters who I didn't like at all and yet his development led me to love him by the end.

I am heading straight into book 2. I am new to the fantasy world and am in love with this series.

The bookbinder of Jericho By Pip Williams

I have just had the pleasure of completing the gorgeous book. I had been so excited about reading it after loving the dictionary of lost words. Pip Williams did not let me down with this one. Beautiful and descriptive, well rounded characters, well researched and a storyline that flows without any dull parts. Definitely recommend this book if you have an interest in the book making process, relationships, the development on women's rights and family.
