The Quelling by C.L. Lauder

Go to review page

The world of The Quelling is expansive and intricate. If you’re a sci-fi fan who loves reading about other worlds and different alien species, this is for you.

Kyjta and Kranik are from opposite sides of this system. They have to make these huge decisions about what’s right and what’s wrong and do they do what’s best for them, the world, or their peoples. Kyjta’s internal monologue was especially interesting to be in as she wrestled with these choices.

For lovers of romance, you’re not forgotten. There’s a low-key star-crossed lovers story brewing and I’m interested to see where that leads.

Thank you C.L Lauder and Book Influencers for the chance to read this!

Australia mentions, sass, written in a way very much like how I think, and a main character who could hold her own with my other fave main characters.

I have no idea how this is a standalone though when there’s so many * threads * that could be picked up for a whole series!

The blurb isn’t kidding when it says for fans of Sarah J Maas and Richelle Mead, my two fave authors. I enjoyed this so much!
Proportional Revenge by David G. Williamson

Proportional Revenge is not the kind of book that I usually read, but it was intriguing to get out of my reading bubble for a bit. Chique and Claire were interesting characters to follow and had both gone through so much. It was a dark, but quick read with a theme of ‘is anyone really the good guy?’

The story follows both Chique’s past and current life and fills in information and twists as you go.
