Ohh, what a gem of a book and story this one was! I loved it!
This should be no surprise, since I've read the previous books and loved them, but it was a lush of fresh air in this holiday season.
In this story we have a funny meet cute between Livie and Alex, around finding a parking space. Even if it wasn't on their plans, the ended up going out that night and had a night to remember. They meet again and is clear that they can't stay away from each other so even if they don't admit that, they find a way to help each other and spend time together through a fake relationship. But is it fake when you act even when no one's watching? Even when you want it so bad for it to be real?
I loved both characters. Livie was such a strong woman, and at the same time kind, sassy and funny. She got to see the best of the people around her and loved to help everyone around. She had a kind heart and I kept rooting for her HEA. And Alex was just the perfect match for her. He was a kind, respectfull, sweet, funny, attentive and just perfect. Just perfect. He always said and did the right things and made me "aaahhww" so many times. I don't know how it is possible to right the perfect characters every time, but Ambar sure delivers every single time.
And not only the characters, but the whole plot/story, world building, all the details. I just love her writing style and what she manages to put on paper. Amazing!
I'm just dying to read the next one!

This story starts where Just Partners left us, so it would be better to read the first book in the series to better understand all the history between them. After they solved the previous case and Link got out of the hospital, and after they have decided to be Just Friends.
They still don't know why Cassie's career got bulldozed and are starting to get some new cases. One in particular has Link kind of unconfortable, since he has some shady secrets of his own and this one case has a little conflict of interest with his secrets.
We see both character being torn by how attracted they are with each other and at the same time being torn appart by those secrets and some lack of trust.
How can they evolve in their relationship without fully trusting one another?
Just as the previous book the romance is just in the backgrownd and is not the main theme in the story. The solving problems and mystery is the main goal. But we have some hints here and there.
I wish the next one brings them more together and gives us a little bit more about their relationship.
This rom-com was exactly the best way to relax and laugh out loud several times. I read it in one sitting, because I just couldn't put it down.
I may be biased beacause it had several of my favorite troupes, but they we perfectly executed and it brings us this gem of a story.
Elle is a successfull podcast maker, with a good life. She receives a call, warning her that her grandmother's health condition is getting worse she decides on the spot to return to her childhood home to help. There, she meet Adam, the nurse hwo is taking care of her grandmother in the most peculiar way.
Adam is a nurse, that works two jobs to help his family. He meets Elle when she arrives at her grandmother's house, and their first and several second interactions are not exactly the best ones. They have a hate but must tolerate each other, and as time goes by we start seeing suble hints that that hate may not be so true and is changing after all.
Besides all the interaction and banter between both main characters we have a major subject aproached in this book. How to deal with an Alzheimer's patient and mainly how to react and what to do when that patient is someone you love. How you feel, how you struggle and how you grieve for the person you once knew and how to accept to watch them lose themselves bit by bit. It has this heavy topic, but even so it's still a rom-com, a romance and a very good story.
I really loved it!
In this holiday romance we have Seth, travelling in order to spend christmas with his family. But a storm hits at the time he gets stranded on the side of the road, so he gets stuck in his truck. He is saved by a woman in a 'santa's elf' costume (Mack) while she is trying to get the town's christmas event and village up and running on time, and alone. So like the gentleman he is he repays her by helping her manage her chores as a thank you note. They discover that they work well together and a friendship starts blooming with that companionship. And then, more than friendship arises.
But they are from opposite worlds. How will they settle? And where?
It was so good to in a very healthy way make decisions and working their relationship details.
I loved the banter between the main characters. It was funny and spot on! It made me want to keep poking them so it would continue. It made me laugh several times. And the reindeer? Those niblings of love? 😅
The story flowed perfectly and I kept being drawn into the book and couldn't put it down.
A very good way to get into the holiday spirit!
In this novella we have five new epilogues and a series wrap up for the Wolf Mountain Ranchers series.
If you loved the previous books like I did, you'll love this novella.
We can see into the future of these loved characters and get an inside peek at Coop, and she is crackling awsome.
It revolves around friendship and love and surely happy ever afters. A perfect way to end this series and give us a little more taste of what we all have loved so far with these characters.
I really enjoyed both characters and story, and this world of sisterhood and friendship and then love.
Ella is as sweet as the flowes she cares about! I could really relate to several points in her and loved her for being and feeling so down tonearth and real. She had been neglected and pushed down on her previous relationship so after it ended she needed to find herself again. So, what better way to reconnect with her true self and to discover her self worth than a change of scenery? She invites herself to Liam's road trip and at the same time has the chance to spend time with that awsome man.
Liam is a closed up person. He was in a bad place when he moved into the small town, and at firs didn't connect to other people. So much, that he started to stay away. But that is not his true self at all. Is a valid coping mechanism, because he is caring, living, protective, selfless and so so sweet. That big wall around him is always up except form the Delatou family, mainly Ella. He fell for her almost from the day they met, but she was 'the forbidden fruit', so he tried his hardest to squash all those feelings. Until.. the road trip.
Then up in close proximity with each other, in a caravan, and end up getting to know each other more and more. And they only confirm that that first attaction was spot on and they start getting feelings and attached.
It was endearing seeing them tear those walls around them and simple giving into each other and letting themselves be loves and believing to be worthy.
I'm starting to get that when Valerie writes a book I'm surely going to read it!
In this one we have two complete opposites that just complement each other in so many ways!
I really liked Willa. She is a sweet and shy woman, that gets all flustered by a beautiful new man in town (Reid). So she does what anyone would do, right? She tries to hide and avoid him! After all there is no way a gourgeous man like him would be interested in simple small town Willa! But.. she was so wrong! He got attracted to her since the first time he saw her, and he loved to get her to blush.
Willa's character grew so much in this book. It was amazing to see all the development! Reid made her confident and leave her shell and apreciatte and even stand up for herself.
Reid was such a sweet but confidant man, that oozed power and at the same time such care. So when a now danger followed him and puts the people he cares about in danger he gets in protective mode.
But what happens if they love each other? How can they work if they are from two different worlds? She never wants to leave her small town, and he would never trade the big city rush.
I loved this book. The story, the characters, the jokes! I laughed ao much! Amazingly good!
It was good to meet Gwen and Caleb again, and follow where Holiday Star left us. And, even better to add Jenny and Dean to this mix.
In this story we have both FMC perspectives (Gwen and Jenny) and it was quite nice to have this dual POV / interconnected stories.
I loved Jenny from the start. To me she was such a sweet woman with a kind heart and she was not trully appreciated. And therefore her issues of not being worthy. Dean was a grump, but even when his grumpiness was at its high, we could see his kind heart! All those walls were just a protective mechanism.
So, here we have one couple getting readdy for their wedding, and so many things just happen.. we wonder will they make it? And the other getting close to one another in the sweetest way!
It was nice seeing their support system, and all that friendship evolve.
And, of course, the cherry on top was the suspense! I did not see that coming. At all! I loved it!
I can't wait for Helen and Teddy's turn!
Both characters were strugling in their own ways to prove themselves. Gwen by working hard to be a good doctor and prove her worth with her acomplishments, and Caleb by being a good actor and exceding at being a celebrity. Both transmited an image to the outside completly different from reality. To others they were powerfull, resorsefull, strong, acomplished and envied. But in reality they were just two people trying to get through their insecurities, mainly by projecting an image of self confidence (fake it 'till you make it right?).
Well, when they end up together living during the holiday season in close proximity to each other they start to see the real person behing all those walls and false projections. And, guess what? The actually like the real person underneath (the one they were hiding)!
They teach each other to be true to themselves and most of all that it's ok not to match other people expectations. It is most important to match your own.
And when all is bliss, reality comes and blows them away. They are forced to be apart and to re-evaluate what they want most in life. Their pretenses or their new found happiness, even if the lattest is so much harder.
They struggle, sure, but they also learn that they are so many things, and not just that one thing that at first defined them. And once they accept that fact, they are so much happier!
It was a pleasure to watch both of them grow in so many ways. Both chatacters were relatable and I could see myself a little in both (so much more in Gwen that it was a little frightning, but.. well!).
Their love was flashing, like a neon sign, and it was spot on. They melted my insides from time to time.
“Gwen, don’t you know by now…anything of mine is yours. You just have to ask."
“I’m going to teach you that forever isn’t long enough for the two of us.”
I was teary eyed several times, I laghed and was enraged throughout the book. I love when a story makes me feel so much and this one surely did not disapoint!
Well done! So freaking well done!

This sweet short story was like one perfect Hallamark movie just in time for the holidays.
It revolved around Abby and Nick, two former best friend that got stranded and appart because of a teenager's bad decision (who didn't ended up making major bad life choices as a teen?).
When Abby returns home for her cousin's wedding she meets Nick again. And meets her mother's judgement once again (jeez... some of that criticism rings a bell and hits home). And even though she really believes he is never going to forgive her, he is just so sweet that he really does just that! After all, christmas is the right time for miracles, and St. Nick was in love with her all along!
It was extremly cozy and heartwarming!
