What an unexpected mindblowing ride.
This story is a Dark Paranormal Romance with serious dark & twisted vibes, great psychological display and also erotic horror. Definitely check the trigger warnings!

First I want to say how much I love the cover and how the title is actually mentioned in the story. Love the connection! I also really like the titles of the chapters, pretty interesting!

I had a lot of fun reading this because it was very unique, something I haven't read before.
The plot is very interesting with great characters. I really like Rachel and her thoughts. Really nice that we get to see whats going on inside their heads. The descriptions were very immersive.
The author did a great job, it's well written.

What I enjoyed slightly less (which I find hard to explain so don't shoot me if it sounds rude) is the interaction during/end the spice. When the "receiving"end all of a sudden realises that it is not what they signed up for and then they just run away. Some situations were just too weird because of it (and also repetitive).

Overall a great read and happy to have read it! I actually can't wait for the sequel because it did end quiet interesting!

This is only the first book out of 6 and Oh My God it was already one hell of a ride.
I am just blown away by Astrid's creativity. So many plot twists and amazing reveals.
The way she unraveled the story by slowly giving us pieces of information when needed.
It was magnificent. Well written! Great world building! I have a hard time explaining how good the story was put together with the action, mystery, tension but also lighthearted and fun elements.
Some parts were confusing but most of it eventually gets cleared up well enough.
So it does have heavy world building with the mystery being unravelled. Very captivating!

Also lots of amazing characters I adore! Some I also hate but thats a necessary evil for books like these haha!

The ending I found a bit less satisfying because it was a little bit too rushed all of a sudden. Astrid left me all nervous with what is happening. And the prologue? Acting like everything is fine in their little hiding world? So many questions, my brain can't process haha. I need book 2 asap!

What a lovely read for the holiday! The spicy mystery was just what I needed.
It made it even more perfect by being able to relate with our bratty FMC.
Anastasia (FMC) is a booklover with Dark Romance as her preference. Something she would love to experience for herself in real life. During this Christmas season her dark fantasy wishes come true. A masked MMC who has been stalking her is all ready to give her what she wants (needs).

This mystery man is such a great and intruiging character. I love his obsession and possessiveness. Who wouldn't be turned on by that?

The story was so captivating, every night I was so curious of which gift and what type of message it would be. Katie created the perfect atmosphere. It was so good! So much tension and dark spice woven into a beautiful and cosy story.

I also really love the happy ending. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy, wishing for the same thing to happen to me, haha.

Thank you Katie for this amazing read!

This is the second book in the Alex Bain series.

Keywords | Tropes: Third person 1 pov - Slow paced - Fantasy - Romance - Found Family - Vampires - Witches/Warlocks - Half-vampires - Werewolfs - Shifters - Fae/Elves- Talking dog - Mate - Murder Mystery - A powerful Drug

I was expecting this book to be more action packed then the first one but it ended up being more of a cosy mystery read. Alex seeking help from this hot bartender called Finn. After Lucas leaving they developed some sort of friendship and it is really lovely watching it blossom during the hunt of solving this murder case (together with Izzie and Otto ofcourse).

It was kinda similar with the first book, being slow paced with the biggest action near the end of the book. The action was really good tho, very well described, just like the mystery and its explenations.

The romance you find in this book is different then the first one. Here it has this wholesome vibe of a perfect couple to be honest. So cute and the spice was really good.

I still love all the characters. Alex the badass and caring FMC, she is so amazing. Finn with his horrific past is such a gentle soul (and sexy). Izzie is just the sweetest friend, would do anything for Alex. Argo still brings the funny and lighthearted atmosphere to the house. Love them all.

It was a really good book and the little unexpected letter at the end of the book makes you spiral into so many thoughts of what is going to happen in book 3. I can not wait!

This was such a fun read! Exactly what I needed to make the christmas season more enjoyable.

Both stories have it all; the cosy festive atmosphere, the humoristic but cutesy vibe between the characters, the generous mentality of giving, the beautiful scenery and ofcourse the perfect spice with love.

And we got a little piece of Puck's pov. That was so adorable, I was in awe. Perfection!

My favorite highlights:
"You're the only beast I see, darling."
It means so much to my human mommy.
"I was admiring your ass from afar. Decided to admire it up close,"

What a jolly surprise Liana gave us. Made me feel warm and fuzzy.

This is great for anyone that loves very dark and twisted stories involving psychological display and filthy spice.

I loved it! I enjoyed it so much. Anything messed up and dark captivates me. I think I haven't found any triggers for myself yet. Does that make me a psychopath? Maybe. I don't care because it made me love this story!

The plot was really good and had a great development from start to end. The characters were diverse and they were amazing! I am not sure what to think of the plottwist in the end. It is good but I guess I was hoping it didn't turn out that way?

I really do love Ashley's character a lot and the shadow. I loved their connection the most!
Nathan, my dirty shadow daddy, also such a specific vibe in the story.

The only thing that really bothered me was how long they kept the reader in the dark about why she arrived at the new school. The amount of times it was mentioned she knows what to do and why got kinda repetitive without extra information for us.

Other then that, perfect story. One I won't forget anytime soon.

A lovely urban fantasy read with a diversity of 'creatures'.

Keywords | Tropes: Fantasy - Lust - Romance - Found Family - Vampires - Witches/Warlocks - Half-vampires - Talking dog - Business job at day - Warrior at night - Prophecy

It starts off a bit slow with the main focus on our FMC in the business world but Kristen did an amazing job creating a good setting to get to know the characters before fully diving into the supernatural mystery and action.

This story has many loveable characters, including 1 amazing talking Corgi called Argo. Love the vibe he adds to the story! The conversations between Argo and Alex are almost always funny and cute.

I found it very interesting to read about Alex and Lucas, their connection and lust for each other. Really great tension and spice. I especially enjoyed the random forest scene and their meeting after their business trip, hihi.

Both Alex and Lucas are very intruiging characters and I loved reading the traumatic backstory of Lucas.

I also really enjoyed how Kristen wove in the mystery throughout the story and managed to give us little bits of information now and then in a clear and understandable way.

The action with Alex's 'transformation' in the end really captivated me. I can not wait to read more of this in the 2nd book.

Thankyou for your beautiful book!

This book is about 2 serial killers who kill serial killers.
Eventho it has some gory details and horror scenes, it is mostly lighthearted due to its writingstyle and the fun personalities of the characters. It made it a pleasant read for people who aren't that much into horror.
I enjoyed the start, liked the mid to end part less. It kinda felt like the story lost its spark.
The spice in it was really good though! I really loved it and its tension. It might have been the biggest part that kept me going to the end.

Overall a good read with funny and gruesome elements and great spice

A wholesome vibe in a dark and lonely setting.

Keywords | Tropes: Romance - Dark Fantasy - Demons/Angels - Soft spice - Enemies to Lovers -Forbidden Love - Sexual awakening - First love - Obsessive MMC - Innocent FMC

Dedication: To all the girls who see beyond the darkness to find the light within.
This is so beautiful.

I really enjoyed this one. It is the prequel from The River of Fire and I loved we got to see a bit more of its background. What I liked even more is this beautiful story of Neph (his full name is too difficult to remember haha ), being a powerful lonely demon, always fighting in the war against the angels, not finding pleasure in anything else untill... He meets Syrin on the battlefield.
He goes through a journey full of new emotions (and lets say a bit of an obsession), finding new pleasure in life and it totally gives you the most wholesome relationship.

Fav quotes:
"You will catch me?" - "Every single time."
"If it is your desire, I will rip the cottage from the ground and carry it to the cliff edge above us."

Neph and Syrin are like cute little babies meeting love for the first time, aka each other. It was perfect.

I like how the lust and spice is still woven into this story just like the other books but on a softer level, making their interactions and first acts beautiful. Thats why the story gives innocent and pure vibes due to the passionate and careful spice.

I might like this one the most because (yes I keep repeating myself) it is so wholesome and makes me feel all warm and happy (eventho it's not a perfect situation).

Thank you Liana for this wonderful read!

A cutesy but spicy read with the side characters Kevin and Naamah from The River of Fire.

It's the lust story of a succubus and a fuckboi. It starts with a bang (heh) and only gets hotter as things get hammered and screwed some more. Check your trigger warnings and stay hydrated.

Key words | Tropes : Dark Romance - Fantasy - First person Dual pov - Fast paced - Succubus x Cambion - Enemies to lovers - Spice - Dom mommy - Sub male - BDSM - Traumatic past - lighthearted with its humor and banter

Yet again a lovely and easy read with a gorgeous cover and a great dedication!

To those who find strength in surrender and power in vulnerability.

Perfectly describes Kevin.

It's refreshing to read reversed roles after reading The River of Fire (and also The Gates of Hell).
Kevin and Naamah were made for each other. The horny fuckboi who went through all the girls in camp Abaddon found his match made in heaven. He only has to find it out through an interesting journey that you can read in The Realm Of Shadows.

It is less world-building related but more about the spice, their relationship and their own as individual, which makes it a fun and easy read mixed with Kevin's emotional background/thoughts.

The only remark I have, which is hard to avoid while writing a seperate story of side characters from another book, is that some of it was already known or expected to happen. It made it a bit less captivating due to the lack in tension. The story was still amazing. I really enjoyed being in Kevin and Naamah's head. Great characters.

and that last spicy scene? All the things she can do with her tail? Oh my.. Perfection honestly!

Thankyou again Liana for this wonderful read and giving me the opportunity to read this as an advanced readers copy.
