This was fine. It has an exciting premise and all the usual trappings of a good thriller. But for me it just kind of ended in a Scooby Doo sort of way. The author spent a LOT of time talking about dead ends and didn't devote enough to making the ending seem believable to me.
It broke my heart to finish this book. I fell so hard for Oona and everyone in her life. I'm not usually the kind of person who cares for a series but if Margarita Montimore would bless us with a follow up, I'll happily eat that up as well. I just want to know more and more and more about Oona and the people she comes across in her life.
You know, when it was all said and done, Oona Out of Order was a love-letter to the ride or die relationships in our lives. It also made me think about all the life lessons that I've learned through the years and how grateful I am to have the perspective of age.

I can’t say that I enjoyed this book only that I couldn’t stop reading it. And honestly I’m glad it’s over.
Honestly, this book has all the ingredients to be a book that I should love but something about it just didn't really work for me.
The main character spends so much time obsessing over what other people think of her without ever talking about it with any of them that I assumed that at some point that would be resolved but instead it wasn't even addressed. The author tells us that Judy and her spouse are separated but we don't ever really SEE that they're separated or how that separation has affected their life at all except that they sleep in different bedrooms--which many happily married people do.
I listened to this on audiobook and at one point I saw that there were 17 minutes left in the book and I was shocked because exactly nothing was anywhere near a conclusion. The ending was, more or less, "and we're still dealing with all of the same ole same ole". I don't mind a realistic ending but if nothing that the reader cares about about is resolved in any way, I don't understand the point in telling the story.
Honestly, this review sounds really annoyed and bitter but mostly I was just confused by this book. Usually I have no problem putting down a book that isn't working for me but I felt like this book should have been working for me--I just needed to keep going. And then it was over.

Ok so I ended up loving this. At first I thought it was moving too quickly for me to get attached to any of the characters but it absolutely slowed down and I fell in love with everyone appropriately.
Also the ending, to me, was perfect.

Fast paced. Plot twists that didn’t feel like they were coming out of nowhere. A satisfying ending. This was my perfect kind of thriller.
