This is definitely my favorite of the series so far. I'm glad we finally get the sibling reveal because that entire plotline should not have existed at all, let alone for three whole books. But I also liked it because there was a lot of action, plenty of much-needed backstory for various characters, and lots of growth for many of the characters. But also, mostly, I'm just glad Clary and Jace can makeout without me wanting to vomit all the time.

I forgot like 90% of the events in this book, so it was a very refreshing reread. I think Jace was written wildly different than in the first book, and I kind of hated him. I also really hated the WEIRD makeout scene between Jace and Clary… Like guys you literally believe you are siblings…please god no… I seriously hope they find out they aren’t related in the next book . Despite not loving the writing at all, I still find the story fun and interesting. I don’t remember the next book at all so I’m excited!

I definitely loved this more when I read it as a teenager, but even as an adult I can understand that love. This was such a nostalgic re-read for me! I remember my horror at finding out about Jace and Clary's "relatedness," but re-reading it now was even more horrifying. Obviously I know they're not actually siblings, but it's so weird to me that that was the premise and still the two are written as teens with feelings for each other with chemistry. It totally gives me the ick.
There's definitely language that is extremely dated, and the writing itself made me cringe at times, but the story as whole remains interesting and fun. I'm excited to re-read the rest of this series and enter into the expanded Shadowhunter world that I have yet to experience. One can only hope it gets better from here.

This book renewed my interest in this series all over again. Not that the third book was bad or anything, but it wasn’t nearly as good as it could have been.
Every time I picked up this book, I could not put it down unless forced. I was interested in everyone’s POVs—even Manon’s, finally—and all the action and happenings going on. I love that all my favorite characters eventually (finally) were all in the same place. The plot twist at the end had me shook.
This book was so tense and I’m not ready for the last 3 books in this series. I know SJM is going to devastate me somehow. I’m just so glad I have my buddy reader here with me along for the ride 🥲

What an amazing series. I love that someone decided to write their own sort of “sequel” to my favorite game in graphic novel format and give Max and Chloe a life after the game. What a cool concept that was beautifully brought to life. Overall this series was fun and unique and I really loved it. Such a fitting end for my favorite duo 🦋 💙

This was definitely my least favorite of the series. I think all the characters felt...off. I can understand why a lot of people don't like this book very much. It was a tough read, and though I'm happy with the way it ended, I'm sad at how we got there. Overall I really liked this series, but nothing will compare to the first book, and that's the book that I'll think of when I think about this series.

This book takes a hot minute to really get into it. Even so, I’m surprised by how many bad reviews I’m seeing. I really enjoyed this latest installment in Stevie Bell’s life. Like I said, it did take a bit to pick up, but once it did, I was enthralled as I was with every other book in the series. I guess I’m just really in love with Stevie and these books. I hope more are to come, especially after that ending. (Also I’m kind of proud of myself because the suspect was one of my top 3 guesses and I suck at mysteries sooooo).

Emily Henry's stories have a way of making me swoon, smile, and tear up that not a lot of other romance novels do. I don't know what kind of drug she puts into these books, but consider me hooked.
