A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra

This novel floored me. Very sad, but immensely engaging. Reminded me a bit of the book, All the Light We Cannot See.
Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell

A bit of a stretch for mead I usually avoid thrillers or scary books in general. Read this for a bookclub with Ally and my mom and we all generally liked it! The writing style took me a bit to get used to, but once I was into it, I was really into it. I devoured this book, reading close to 300 pages in one day. It did freak me out, it’s the kind of storyline that has you wondering how someone can even come up with this kind of thing. Definitely recommend if your looking to step outside of your book-comfort zone!
The Beekeeper's Lament: How One Man and Half a Billion Honey Bees Help Feed America by Hannah Nordhaus

“But in the end, there is honey.” -page 231
Excellent book, fantastic read! This non fiction book takes on a journey to explore bees, honey, and what all the buzz is about. Expertly written, it reads like a novel, but chock full of valuable information and insights.

Becoming by Michelle Obama
5.0
Fantastic book, one that inspires and captivates. Michelle Obama opens herself up in the most graceful way, all the while addressing everything you’ve wondered about her life and the Obamas life before, during, and after the White House. This book opened my eyes to the intelligent ways that we can work to be more inclusive and lift others up. She shows us that we can use our stories and our platforms, however large, to make real and meaningful change in the world. Without being overly political, she speaks to the heart of her family which I could feel reflected in mine. Definitely recommend as a great book to read and then reflect on.
The Clockmaker's Daughter by Kate Morton

Well, I am glad I pushed through to the last third of the book when it actually became enticing. This is a very full, dry book before then, with so many characters and plot lines that it almost seems as though the ending was a bit of an attempt to tidy up the beginning. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be re-reading. I’d be curious to read another book written by Kate Morton though.
