A very cozy, horror book. Having grown up with the films, it was refreshing to read the story as it was written. It reminded me of Any Weir's writing, with a lot of scientific explanations and conversation.

There was a lot of world building but I can't wait to read this again. I love multiple povs and watching their stories come together. The details added so much to the story.

This book was so inspiring and positive. It made me feel the connection humanity has and just how important the smaller things are. It showed me the beauty of humanity, which feels rare nowadays (it is there just not as broadcasted as our evils). It is a letter to all ages. Will read again.

This book was so informative and felt unbiased. It was so frustrating seeing the effects of one man's words, twisted and interpreted by so many men, resulting in murder, rape, surrender, and acceptance. This is a perfect portrayal of the bystander effect, and the control religion holds over morality and humanity.

There were too many time gaps and not enough explanation for my enjoyment. I was very interested in the story development but lost interest more and more as events occured without conclusions and others began without introduction. It felt like I was reading a lot of short stories and trying to piece them together.

I'm conflicted if I'll read this book again. This book was so human. I feel deep empathy and hope for Jennette's progress. I'm glad her mom died too.

Even though this book is very informative, there are moments of comfort and welcoming and inspiration. I won't read it again and that is why it is 3 stars.

This book was not terrible, but I do not have a desire to ever read it again. I felt like it was very predictable and slow.

The structure of this book was perfectly executed. Every word was informative and necessary in capturing the events, people, and feelings, during that time. I can't say I never want to read this book again or I will read this book again. However, this book will stay with me forever.
