Solid second book in a series.

Once again this book starts off dreadfully slow much like CC1. But much like CC1 the slow is worth it to get to the ending.

Hunt and Bryce being mates was perfect and nothing should happen any other way. I’m glad that didn’t change. Hunt and Bryce getting “hard” or “damp” every time the wind blew their way was a bit annoying.

The ending….. What In The Actual F…..??? Like where is this going to go now?! But I’m here for it! All the damn way!

This spin off series start gave me all I would have wanted in the first series. Plus Roth! It was like everything and more.

Zayne is still kind of broody and I’m hoping we see more growth from him in the coming books.

Trinity is a lot like Layla which at first was off putting. But there was more dimension to Trinity.

Looking forward to reading the next books!

This was a wonderful story. Nixie has lived on a beached boat since she was 5 years old. Her father has 3 wives, and there are others on the boat as well that Nixie would call her family.

One day some teens are partying on the water when something goes horribly wrong and one boy falls into the ocean. Nixie saves this boy named Crew and he calls her a mermaid.

This story is definitely well written YA, but I think that adults may like it as well, I know I did! But adults should go into it knowing you’re not going to get an almost NA book it’s definitely YA all the way.  Nix starts sneaking away with Crew and experiencing “dry land”, finding out secrets along the way. It’s a captivating story that sucked me in from the start. It wrapped up perfectly.

This book was perfect for fantasy lovers.

A mix of Indigenous folk lore and fae lore. All the fantasy unknowns needed as well. The conniving nature of the Fae in this book is no Velarian tale so don’t go into it expecting a Fae warrior to sweep you anywhere but into a shallow grave.

I was happily surprised by this book. All books lately have seemed the same especially books that include the Fae. I don’t need another Cassian or Rhys they were perfect where they were and already written. This one was finally different! With the intermixed lores of the Fae and the folk lore of Native American ancestry this book grabbed me and pulled me in. I listened to it all in one day! I loved the main character. She was honest and strong willed without being overly obnoxious and overbearing.

The world building was great and I even enjoyed some of the secondary characters but the lore was a character in and of itself and I enjoyed that the most.  I love the way the author spent time on the world so much that you can’t help but wish for Rowan to be a real place. I love even more how the narrator brought it all to life and had me walking through it all right along with our MC.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loved the Sookie Stackhouse series or southern fantasy stories like that one.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this audio listen!

Thank you Netgalley and Harper books for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book. From the very first page I was already smiling and wishing Solange was my best friend. That first chapter is so good you can’t put it down once you start.

This is a trope I wasn’t sure I liked before, fake dating. But, the way Mia Sosa has written it I now know how wrong I was for my assessment of the trope.

I loved the interpersonal relationships of Solange and her family. Especially the bond between her and her mom. That this book mixes English and Portuguese throughout their conversations made it feel all the more real. I remember being at my sitters house as a kid and she would start speaking Portuguese to us naturally and in the middle of conversation and sentences. This gave me that memory and I found I could still understand some of it as I read. The language is beautiful.

The banter between Solange and Dean is perfection. Dean is all the right amount of charm and broken past. I’m so refreshed that he’s not a bad boy too. The straight laced buttoned up white lawyer. Who falls for the sarcastic, witty, intelligent, and beautiful Latina. The cast of characters is diverse. My favorite side character being Brandon. I need his book please Mia!

I can’t wait to read Mia Sosa’s entire back list!

This YA horror is a must read!

The queer/trans representation is reminiscent of The Honeys and certainly will fail in the category of great LGBTQ reads in the same way.

The Darker but highly hopeful story unfolds in a breathtaking way. Leaving the reader changed and having a better understanding of real life horrors faced by those who choose to be who they are regardless of societal rules.

This book follows Clover a half Fae half Human living in a Fae hating city as she searches desperately for her missing human boyfriend Grant.

Grant goes missing and comes to Cover in a ghost like form injured and in trouble, needing her help to find him before it’s too late.

I found myself rooting for Clover and feeling bad for her circumstances.

This paranormal fantasy is enjoyable and well written. Thank you netgalley for this ARC read!

This book is phenomenal. It is not easy for me to give that 5th star but this book deserves it. A must read regardless of genre bias. I assure you you will enjoy this story.

Stunningly written, theatrically delivered, and world building that is reminiscent of ancient folk tales. Even this girl who struggles to envision what is written due to inability, found myself immersed in the pages and world.

Just read it.
