Unlike anything I've ever read...
I love fantasy books when you're dropped into the middle of the story rather than a long exposition full of setting details. World-building should be poetic, not an actual blueprint. Everything about this world was vague, the reader was expected to fill in the details as the story progressed.
LOVED all the honey bee details as I am just a huge fan of honey bees. They are fascinating!
And a satisfying ending, meaning a glorious climax, and not everything tied up with a pretty bow, but a hopeful new beginning.
Of course I wanted more, but not because anything was left unsaid, only in the way that a great book lingers in your mind long after the last page has been turned.

"10 Things I Hate About You" meets role reversal "She's All That"......sign me up!
I came, I read, I fell in love with this author couple dynamic duo!

I didn't think I'd ever love a Sarah Dessen novel more than Saint Anything, and that *may* still be true, but it's honestly a photo finish.
The lake, the family, ROO! - I would have read hundreds more pages!
A quick resolve at the end, but delightful the whole way through. My only wish is that I read this while laying by a lake, but alas, that wasn't the case. Thank God for all my fictional vacations!

There. Are. No. Words. But let's give it a shot....
I had no idea what I was missing waiting so long to dive into the worlds Naomi Novik creates!
Agnieszka is immediately relatable, and the character development is astounding! Loyal, passionate, stubborn, kind - you can't help but root for her.
The Dragon, however, was like the slow thaw of an ice sculpture with a blow dryer.
The story began in a reasonable direction and then you were flung so fast and so far off script, all you could do was hold on for dear life. Like a blind roller coaster ride; one minute you're adjusting to the loops and curves, and the next you're plummeting down a drop and your stomach's in your throat. And then from full speed to a lurching stop.
Topped off with a blissful last scene that kept a dorky grin on my face long after the book was closed. Read it. Now.

A boy trapped in a broken system.
A girl trapped in the prison of perfection.
A story of how opposites most definitely attract, but more importantly how they show you what you can't always see on your own.
Katie McGarry writes these books where you fall in love with the characters, swoon at the young love, and become enraged at the broken systems. And I LOVE the recurring theme of mentors who prove that some adults will never stop fighting for these victims of the system. These books are far too meaningful to be labeled as "fluffy"; more like these characters need a freaking break after the hell they survive. I'd say this book was one of my favorites of hers, but honestly I love them all equally because you can't help but become so invested in each and every one of her protagonists. A feat that guarantees her on the "Must-Read" list. Always.

THIS. BOOK.
The friendships, the magic realism - alien abduction for sure because this was a wild ride!
I know friends riding around on bikes in a small town is nothing new.
I know alien stories and freak occurrences are nothing new.
I know coming to terms with past trauma while coming of age is nothing new.
But still Emily Henry wrote a masterpiece. I would watch the show, movie, limited series. I'd even watch the ghost Youtube videos The Ordinary posts.
This book was full of contradictions, but only the good kind. Bittersweet. Timeless yet nostalgic. Thrilling yet serene. Hopeful yet inevitable.
Emily Henry's books are always on my To-Read list, but this one was an immediate favorite.
I think when a book heals you right along with its characters, that's the real magic.
