God Complex by Darcy Dahlia

Holy shit. This book was so good...I'm already downloading book 2 so I can dive right back in.
I mean you get two hot alpha men, one who the world sees as a golden boy and one who the world sees as a bad boy...both serial killers...and both obsessed with her. 🥰
From the start it was so easy to connect with Kit and the childhood abuse she dealt with that lead to her doubting herself so much...even years later. There are some voiced that were so loud...for so many years...even when you're away from them...they still talk to you and put you down. Hell I think most of my highlights were just lines of Kit's that I related to in connection to trauma 😅
Once again Darcy Dahlia [aka Rebel Carter 😘] gave me a dark romance that I could fully immerse myself into. 🤌🏽

Black Butterfly by Tiffany Patterson

A wonderful finish to the trilogy ^^ there were quite a few parts that I thought went into way more detail that we needed...but I'm sure there are people that love that level of setting description so you can literally see the entire room around you...sadly I'm not one of them 😅 that being said I always love the people that Patterson surrounds her couples with and can't wait to check out more of the branches she has in this universe 💜

Ngl I hate that it's only giving a chapter at a time...this story is so cute and I need more at one time than these little nibbles I'm being given 😅

OMG I wish this was longer! I could have used so many more young Esme stories and stories of little Yara growing up with her grandmother.
We get romance, mystery, jealously, and ghosts...I would definitely read more if there was more 💜

This was a fun quick read. I do feel some of the information that was hidden in the beginning...really didn't need to be hidden when in the POV of certain characters...could have just had it be hidden from other characters...it wasn't a jump scare or like OMG OMG OMG to me reading it...just surprising to other characters.
Overall a fun read, especially if you're just starting to dip you're toes into dark romance that involves serial killers...😋

This was a cute graphic novel about how sometimes realizing we aren't who we thought we were or who we thought we wanted to be.
I really enjoyed reading this though there were a few things that threw me off...it's giving high fantasy but then they have video game systems and Hawthorne, our main character, mentions something about never remembering to text back...kind of pulled me out of the story a bit since everything else has it set up as a time before tech.
Overall though I really enjoyed this and thought it was sweet with a great message. ^^

Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros

First thoughts...holy shit that was amazing.
Onyx Storm is set a the same, or possibly even faster, pace as Fourth Wing. So those of you who didn't appreciate pace and size of Iron Flame should easily get through this book fast and happily. It did not feel like it was 779 pages [I read the Kindle version...I guess the hardcover is 544]
I was so excited because there were quite a few questions/theories that myself and others had that were definitely answered/confirmed in this third book which was so exciting...and made me feel less like a freak for how heavily annotated and marked up my copies of FW and IF are 😅
Since I'm impatient I definitely bought the Kindle version so I could start at the midnight release and read in any spare second I had...and only really marked a few quotes I liked...definitely not a deep dive read for the first read.
My plan is to now go back and reread FW and IF and see how many things I foresaw coming or what theories of mine came true...and then once I've gone through both of them again...I'll do a deep dive into a physical copy of Onyx Storm so I can annotate and mark it up as well ^^

This was a fun read...ngl I do wish I got a little more story...though this is a series where I'm guessing every features a different couple...I guess I'm used to these kinds of series having books that feel a little more wrapped up than this one felt...idk how to explain.
Overall, I love this story, though I wish I gotten to know both characters even more. It was really refreshing too having essentially a mafia romance but with POC characters 🥰 Looking forward to picking up the other books in the series. ^^
