Ngl I forgot that Quinn gave me creep vibes in the other series...and as much as I want to root for him and Avery...he's still giving me the ick 😅 idk if I'm gonna end up picking up the other two books in their trilogy...🙈

I think, if I hadn't read the summary...I probably would have rated this higher...I feel like the summary is misleading. What I thought I was getting was a shifter romance where the leading lady goes into heat rather quickly and ends up pregnant and then the majority of the story would be him realizing his mistake, groveling a ton, and then finally becoming the mate he should have always been. And don't get me wrong that is essentially what we get...but not in the timeframe I was expecting.
The first 40% of this book felt unnecessarily long...I am glad I pushed through though. Didn't feel like he really groveled, did he feel bad? Yes, but it wasn't giving the level of devastation, yearning, terrified that he'll never earn his mates love...that I'm used to and expect in a rejected mates romance.
I did love the way the story ended, though still missing a lot of info about a lot of players...guessing we might find out in future books?
Anyways, overall a decent read 🤷🏽♀️

This world is is getting so much more full and fun! Although, once again, I'm disappointed in myself for not properly researching ahead of time...and seeing this is not a complete series 😭 I have two more books until I have to wait until December 😭 lord I hope that's the final book so I don't have to keep waiting after that 😭
I love how in shifter romances sometimes the leading man/men can seem like over the top assholes that just are rude, mean, and seemingly evil...and then you see another mate group in that world and you're like...wow compared to that asshole...these guys are actually half decent...like they're assholes but they'd never go that far! 🤣

This was cute ^^ I really enjoyed seeing the shenanigans that Cat and Bennett got themselves into.
Was not expecting so much food play haha definitely went further than anything I've read before when it comes to food 🤭 I just have questions...like how/when did Bennett discover is love of food...🤔
I actually did feel bad for Bennett and wish there was just a bit more dialogue from Cat defending him...and defending him sooner than she did...
Overall loved it and can't wait until book 3! Curious to see how many books we get out of this series ^^

If I had a nickel for every dark romance I've read that includes accidental cannibalism...I'd have 2 nickels...which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice...😋
