This was such a beautiful story. I enjoyed how the plot was woven together. There was a lot going on but it all got addressed at one point or another and it came together wonderfully. I loved the colorful cast of characters and the representation of Cuban culture was great. The mysticism element was also a lot of fun. Overall, a great novel.

This was so cool! The illustrations were gorgeous and the story itself was a bit creepy. I gave this to my 8 year old cousin to read and she enjoyed it.

I can’t believe I waited this long to finally read The Henna Wars but now I understand why people are constantly hyping it up. I feel like this book is having such a positive impact on the people who needed this representation most. It was a very sweet story and I loved the characters.

This was so good! I feel like it would be great for fans of Stranger Things and Loki. It has the vibe of “something weird is going on here” and I loved the 80s setting. The characters were great and this is a series I can definitely see myself continuing.

I’m a big fan of Loki in the MCU so I decided to check out this collection and I loved it! The stories flowed really well together and I can definitely see how these influenced the show.

When I went to the library with my cousins last week, one of them picked out this one and I didn’t think much of it. The following week, she handed it off to me and said I “had to read it.” Mind you, my cousin isn’t a big reader so when she enjoys a book, she truly loves it.
This story was so moving and masterfully told. I loved the way we went back and forth between the four places and how the stories came together in a loose way. This was so good!

It took me a full month to get through this when romance novels usually take me a week, max. At first, I thought I was just in a reading slump. Then I realized THIS book was giving me a reading slump. I had to boost the audiobook to 2.5 speed just to finish the last quarter.
The Right Swipe radiates Girl Boss Energy™️ and if this year has taught me anything, it’s that capitalism with a Brown face is still very much so capitalism. Dear reader, you may find yourself saying: “But this is escapism, it’s not like you have to take everything at face value. Just enjoy the romance.” And I tried, I truly did, but the spice was mild, at best. Just mere illusions to off screen steam. It was like I opened up a La Croix version of adult romance, and it simply did not do it for me. I am not satisfied and have reached the point of considering finding a *real* male suitor to address my needs. I’m sad it had to come to this point.
All that being said, all opinions are my own and just because I didn’t like, doesn’t mean you won’t, too. And Alisha Rai has a ton of other books out so I’ll give her writing another chance, at some point.

This was so much fun and I loved seeing all the different art styles. The individual stories were all great.
I don’t know how to rate this so I won’t. It was very weird in a way that I’m sure went over my head but if you’re into experimental comics, this might be your jam.

I saw this today at the library and read it in an hour. It was so cute!
