A holiday romance with a grumpy FEMALE? Yes please.
Nadia is all business and extra grumpy for the holidays. Ajay is sweet and fun and I loved his softness next to Nadia's hard demeanor. The way these two meet and connect instantly was so freaking HOT that I thought my Kindle might short circuit. This is a novella so there's Insta-Love, but it was sweet and I was here for it!
This is a quick, steamy read with great female friendships and some serious love at first sight.
TRIGGERS: Fatal car accident, loss of parents

I read a more recent Kayley Loring book that I loved so I decided to read more of her books, starting with SLEEPER. I loved the hilarious journals that each main character writes in periodically. Shane in his doctor-mandated Sleep Diary and Willa in her Scents Journal. These entries were laugh-out-loud funny and really added to the story!
Shane was a fun leading man. I loved his attempts at nailing fatherhood and being totally overwhelmed! All parents have been there. And Willa was a perfectly quirky leading lady. I love when female characters are free spirited and quirky in a way that feels genuine and Willa felt very real.
This single dad romance has kids that are actually kids! FINALLY! They vomit at birthday parties, complain about brushing their teeth, and actually contribute to the story, when so often kids are accessories in romances reading more like a pet than a real child.
The chemistry between Shane and Willa is FIRE. And holy hotness when they finally give in to temptation and get it on. Again, props to Kayley for writing sex scenes around the kids! I always wonder about characters in single-parent romances having screaming loud monkey sex while a toddler sleeps down the hall. But this book actually acknowledges the existence of these kids and how that effects the sex lives of our main characters. Well done!
The relationship with Shane's ex was also refreshing in it's honesty. While other books paint the Ex as either completely evil or completely Zen, this book has a realistic Ex with personal struggles and also good intentions. I love that!
Overall, this is a great book with loads of heat and lots of heart.

Hot Farmer who also keeps bees and takes care of his family? SIGN. ME. UP.
I loved this book! Alyson is a city girl who can't seem to stick to anything, but she's ready to try when she inherits her Great Uncles farm in Nova Scotia. She arrives in her short skirt and Louboutins ready to prove herself. Jay is determined to keep his father's legacy alive by working and improving on the farm he raised his family on. When he falls into the freezing ocean with a woman dressed for Madison Avenue he has no idea she is the owner of the farm next to his.
Alyson is funny and determined and a hard worker! I loved how clueless she was while still trying her best in a hard situation that she is not prepared for. And Jay is so swoony! He is kind and sweet and passionate about his work. Watching Jay and Alyson interact while she fumbles with her new life is hilarious!
And these two are hella sexy! The chemistry between them is immediate and their steamy scenes are sooooo good.
Besides the steam is also a story about family, obligations, one's legacy, trusting your heart after heartbreak and what you are willing to sacrifice for love.

This book was okay, but not really my thing. It's Insta-love, covering just two weeks. And while the main characters were very likable, we get yet another perfect child in a single parent romance. No crying. No tantrums. No meltdown at bedtime. The perfect, inhuman, 4 year old boy.
It was also very obvious that the author is not American because the dialog in this book filled with Americans was not true to American speech at all. Words and phrases were throughout this book that an American would simply never use.
The story was decent, but ultimately this book was not for me.

This was the first book I read by this author and after finishing I immediately bought and read the other books in this series.
Penn is a 100% cocky bad boy. I had to laugh at how outrageously unapologetic he is about loving women and sex.
There is something so classic about a reformed "bad boy" and I loved that we saw Penn's hidden kindness all throughout this story (and not just at the end as a result of a good woman). Penn's good character is hidden beneath cocky vibrato, but is always present.
And I always love a female lead with curves and confidence. This leading lady's back story is well written and I love her strength and passion for life.
These two characters had great history and great chemistry and I loved their love story.

This is the final novella in the ALL MY JINGLE LADIES series and, sadly, it was my least favorite of the three.
It was good, but it felt much too short and there was not nearly enough "story" for me. I so wish this could have been a full-length novel.
The lead characters, Gretchen and Noah are both really endearing and well-written. I loved their banter and jokes. They had a very sweet relationship.
The problem is...there was ZERO conflict. No disagreements. No minor issues. Nothing. They meet, fall in love in 1 day, have hot sex, the end.
Again, the characters were good enough that I really just wish there was more.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️1/2

EMILIE SAYS "WHAT?!"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• There is a female STALKER that the male lead won't do anything about EXCEPT when he pays a homeless man outside his building $50/day to "keep her away from him"! WHAT?!! Okay...that's freaking dangerous.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• The female lead also gets non-stop attacked/followed/bothered by various Santas all around NYC...? I just...WHAT?! It's ridiculous.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• The illustrated characters on the cover of this book DON'T match the description of the characters in the story. Like, literally different hair color. Once again I say....WHAT?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• During one of their first interactions the Male lead tells the female lead she needs to "lay off the cookies" while looking her up and down. Yeah. He called her FAT. And she just let that go. I'm sorry...WHAT?!! And may I add an OH, HELL NO!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Within one day of knowing her the Billionaire male hands the heroine his PLATINUM CREDIT CARD and tells her to buy stuff to decorate the lobby of his manhattan building. Ummmm....WHAT?!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• The heroine shows up at the Hero's door in just skimpy lingerie at one point. NOT covered by a coat or anything. Like, how did she get there? She just waltzed through the hallways and took the elevator up to the penthouse dressed in crotchless panties?!! WHAT?!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• The leads have sex multiple times with no mention of condoms/protection/or STIs. Is this the year 2020 because...WHAT?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• The heroine is a food instagrammer and is trying to start her own bakery. She accepts gifts of LINGERIE from UNKNOWN FANS and then puts on the lingerie, snaps photos, and POSTS THEM ON INSTAGRAM. This happens multiple times. Say WHAT?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• This story is about a cooking competition and there are ENTIRE PAGES of minutely-detailed food descriptions. It's ridiculous. This book dragged on for sooooo looonnnng I finally gave up because WHAT?!

Get ready for some serious WSE!
That's "Wall Sex Energy", according to Freya when she first lays eyes on Finn. And, daaaaaammmmnn, do these two deliver on that promise!
I am fire for enemies-to-lovers and I loved how this story had them meet, be waaay into each other, and THEN become enemies. Great change up of the usual trope and it gave their fighting so much more sizzle!
Freya is a smart, entrepreneurial, spitfire. I loved how she was the fish-out-of-water in this story and she DOESN'T assimilate. Again, a real change up for that trope.
And Finn is so swoony, sweet, but also manly AF! A winning combination. I adored him.
Having come from a shit-tastic family I always adore when people FIND and CHOOSE family and this book will give you all of the found-family feels! JINGLE WARS has great friendships, great community, great sex (remember that promised WSE?) and great romance.
STEAM LEVEL: NC-17 (very steamy)

I stumbled onto this book because my Kindle recommended it based on my recent reading and I'm not even mad that a robot algorithm is invading my privacy because THIS was a good call! Well played, you creepy Kindle.
I loved this Christmas Romance! Wesley and Penny both work for their family's Christmas-themed companies and when their companies plan a merger it is conditional on Wesley and Penny getting married. They both think they have time to legally contest this requirement so they sign the contract. But as the year deadline inches closer and their legal options run out, will they have to get married after all?
Okay, so this plot requires you to suspend reality on this merger/marriage contract, but just go with it because this book is funny and sweet and HOT. Penny is smart and capable at work, although she never receives the recognition (or pay) she deserves. She's a bit uptight and prone to panicking and shout-talking in awkward situations. Wes is a smoking hot playboy who is easy going and playful. He's the opposite of Penny, but these two have CHEMISTRY worthy of combusting your panties.
I loved these two and their quirky email banter and then face-to-face banter. I am so happy to discover this new-to-me author and I'm going to read the other two books in this series asap!

SO GLAD I stumbled onto this book! It is funny and sweet and sexy as hell!
Katie has had a two-years-long crush on her boss. She has decided that at the company holiday party she will finally seduce him. It doesn't go so well so she enlists the help of the office Player to teach her how to get her boss to finally notice her.
The scenes where Katie is trying to seduce her boss are hilariously awkward and I adored her so much! She is smart, quirky, and so damn likable. And her chemistry with Hunter is off the charts! I loved the slow burn between them which had just enough moments of heat to reel me in.
Hunter is so swoony! I loved his sense of humor and his hidden sweetness. A great Book Boyfriend for sure.
This story is steamy and sweet. It's a great holiday read!
