This book really disappointed me because all of the other Alex Lake books are very interesting to me. Mystery thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat. But this one was quite frustrating for me. I found that the characters told on themselves or revealed too easily the plot. Which in turn negated the mystery and the thrill. There were white a few attempted red herrings. I don’t like when characters in books mimic dumb and stupid tropes for the sake of putting a story together.
Poetry about her and for her. I love it. Find your favorites and reread them as often as you like. This is a book for her but also for him who wants to love her. I enjoyed it immensely.
This book is called Sula and I barely got to know who Sula was. I know how everyone felt about Sula. I enjoyed the writing style and how Toni Morrison used words. But the story about Sula herself left me wanting more. Sula believed she was living her life the way she wanted because she just wanted to. But in fact she was raised by seeing, hearing, and knowing things that shape us all. She was selfish, inconsiderate, manipulative, and a killer. But Nel was no better. No one in their town was any better than the other. If we all end up in the same circumstances, it doesn’t matter if your mother loved you more or who is married or single. I loved that it was short because any longer and I might not have made it. There is a quote on page 103 that Sula says to Jude in front of Nel that I 100% agree with, also. I would recommend because it is an easy, quick read with some entertaining moments.
This isn’t a book that needs to be read like a novel. This book is affirmations, gratitude, self-love, guidance, advice, appreciation, dedication and so much more for HER! It’s like a circle formed around you full of people who know your worth. You’ll find your favorites in here. Sentiments that were made in HER honor. I’ve already read it in its entirety twice. Once to see what the hype was about. And this time to find my favorites.
I read this on Apple Books.
It was a quick, concise read. Action packed. Is Jack Emery a hero because he wrote a story or just a journalist who put a lot of people’s lives on the line to win a Pulitzer

Once I finished this book, I truly didn’t know what to give it. It is a slow burn with a cliffhanger. And I bought the second one, still!
Abigail annoyed me so much. Valroy constantly mentioning that he could hurt her, but he wouldn’t was a side eye for me. Because he’s a beautiful fae, that doesn’t take away how much he traumatized Abigail and made her uncomfortable.
The clause for Valroy to get to the throne is a good one. Though, he sees a way around that with fae games.
Some good stuff:
“It was sparing a single lash with the whip now for an eternity of them to come.”
“You may not be able to spawn, my beautiful little witch… but I plan to enjoy breeding you regardless.”

I’ve been watching Ace for years. He’s very passionate with his words. I really enjoyed reading this. Many of the pages resemble conversations I have with friends, my daughter and myself regularly. I recommend.
Not a bad story, just a little boring to me.
