Great book makes you think. I'm unsure about some things like humans need to look to the past or future to live and the concept of free will which aren't further elaborated on but it gave me more to think about. Humans inherently seek meaning and this search is what keeps them going even through intense physical and emotional torment. This meaning is defined best by the individual. Cool.
Charlie is so well written everything he thinks and writes makes sense and is very Charlie-esque. The book reminds me a lot of my friend so I like it and Charlie is very <333 I love how he rambles and I feel like it describes a lot of relatable mental health things in ways that make sense like thinking too much to avoid participating in life but not much happens and there are more descriptions of SA than I am comfortable reading.
Very interesting book. The way the narrator interacts with other people makes it obvious that he doesn't believe anything to be inherently morally right or wrong, and only considers how things make him feel. There is also the theme of materialism because the narrator discusses a lot of physical sensations instead of anything metaphysical. He also realises the absurdity in him being sad about his execution coupled with the inherent meaninglessness of his existence.
Very well written short story. I love the writing style. The hardest hitting chapter was chapter 2 about the guy losing his memory and forgetting his wife. Like with all media concerning time travel, you can poke quite a few holes in the plot.
It had me gripped from start to finish. I could not put it down. The ending felt a little rushed. It portrayed the complexities of every character wonderfully.
