This was my favorite book out of the series. God was honored and the romance was sweet!!!

Highlights: I enjoyed the writing style of these authors. The characters and plots were well-written. I liked the family dynamic and how the characters had to overcome difficult obstacles.
Concerns: The last story in the collection is about Bowie who was a Confederate soldier. I kept reading to see if the author would mention how what the Confederate soldiers were fighting for was wrong. One of the characters called him a war hero.

This book had a busy plot, but overall it was a good and interesting read. I also like that this book is based on a program that took place during the Great Depression where librarians delivered books on horseback in Kentucky.  I enjoyed Lillie's character.
I couldn't believe that Alice read during a funeral.
Funniest moment? When Lillie said she made a love potion. (This cracked me up!)

June is a 6th grader who lies to please people. She has to learn how to be honest and tell the truth. The illustrations in this book are well done! This is a good read for middle schoolers.

Concerns: The family goes to church and God is mentioned. Also, the universe is mentioned three times in this book. The universe is given credit that should only be given to God.

I loved this book. It is good and refreshing to read about an authentic and genuine follower of Christ. She want perfect but she was committed to trusting and obeying God! Elizabeth Elliott is relatable and her story is and encouragement to me in my walk with Christ. What stood out to me is that walking with Christ is a journey and sanctification is a lifelong process.

This was a good book! The sweetest moment is when Bud is crying because he has finally found the place where he belongs.
"All of a sudden I knew that of all the places in the world that I've ever been in, this was the one. That of all the people I'd ever met, these were the ones. This was where I was supposed to be."

Reasons for not finishing this book: cuss words and a male character calls another male character hot. I probably won’t read any more books by this author.
