I really enjoyed this book. I am still on the fence of 4 or 4.5. This book was consistent in keeping my attention the entire time. LOVED that the author touched on the difficulties of women in male dominated fields. It had so many amazing tropes, fake dating, grumpy sunshine, etc. And the story revolving around graduate students, PhD scientists, and the world of academia was so unique and interesting.
As for characters, they were all very well written. Olive felt so real and relatable and I just loved her as a character. Adam was written so well and they encompass the grumpy sunshine trope to a T. He was just unique, and so sweet, and so protective of Olive in an actually healthy way that you don’t usually seen in romance books.
The reason this book didn’t get 5 stars from me was because the lack of proper communication led to like so many of their problems and it got to the point that I was about to lose my mind. I completely understand that in romance books the main issue usually does stem from the main characters not being honest about their true feelings but this was very very obvious in this book. Regardless I still absolutely loved it and would totally recommend.

I honestly love all of the Bromance book club books. They’re heart warming, funny, and happy romance books that are a fast read. The first one will always be my favorite but this one and the 2nd are both great as well. This will go down in history as my comfort series for romance whenever I need a laugh, a good cry, and another reminder that men written by women will always be superior.
Ok to start the beginning of this was not great and I really really hate the cover of this book. Embarrassed to read it in public level of dislike for it. I considered DNFing. I had to keep reminding myself that this was written in 2014 because I was getting so annoyed by the characters and the way they were saying stuff. I was cringing at times, especially when a character said “cray cray”. It reminded me of like a 40 year old trying to fit in with their kid and trying to use “young people lingo”. Those instances did lessen the further into the book I got though. Along with that it felt suuuper predictable so that was also a bummer.
However, the second half got a lot better. Still not great but good enough the buy the next book in the series. I am interested enough in the characters and the plot, and I’m optimistic that the next book will be even better.

Way better than the first book. I actually enjoyed this one a lot and could not put it down. Very fast paced, the world building is fantastic, and it was definitely worth getting through the first book to get to this one.
Over all I give the series 3.5-4 stars. It was unique and JLA always has great world building. I wouldn’t say this was one of my favorite series by any means but I enjoyed it. A quick fantasy series read that is romance heavy.
Ok to start I have a million different feelings about this book. The first 100 pages easily 5/5 stars. This author beautifully writes about addiction, mental illness, systemic racism, and long lost love. I could not put this down and after the first 100 pages I thought this was going to be one of my favorite books almost ever.
The second half of the book was still great but it felt like the author almost rushed the second half of the book. Everything started happening so quickly and there wasn’t as much character/story development as I felt like we got in the beginning of the book. I would have loooved if this book was like 100-200 pages longer and the events had more build up and more information behind it. Really I just wanted more.
I would say the ending is open enough that there could be a sequel but also we got enough of an ending that I could also see it being a stand alone. Regardless this book is incredible.

This was probably my least favorite of the bromance books but I still loved it. This series is just a perfect comfort read.
3.5-4 stars? I’d definitely give it a B. I initially got this because I adored It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey so I figured this would be good too. And it was, just not as good as It Happened One Summer.
Older brothers best that Georgie has been in love with since she started liking boys, is back in town after an injury leads to the end of his MLB career. It was cute and I read it in 24 hours so I obviously didn’t want to put it down.
I think the part that kept me from absolutely loving this was at first I felt like Travis was borderline an asshole. Also, the player and the virgin trope is overdone and cringy. However, once I read more and I got to see Travis’ backstory and character development I started to love him a lot more and I just ignored my internal bias towards that trope. I think Georgie also annoyed me a little in the beginning but I ended up loving her by mid way. The ending wasn’t what I was expecting and i totally rolled my eyes but it was still super cute.
One thing I adored is this was these characters actually communicated. Miscommunication being the driving factor in an entire book drives me nuts. And I didn’t get that at all in this book. The characters developed along side each other independently but also in their relationship and it kept me so invested in them.
In Tessa Bailey fashion this book is more detailed than other romance books but her adult scenes always add to the plot of the book. Spice that drives the plot is surprisingly harder to find and Tessa always does a great job at it.
Overall I enjoyed it. I’ll definitely read the next ones in the series. However if someone is looking to read Tessa Bailey for the first time, start with It Happened One Summer then go to this one.

I have mixed feelings because the premise of middle school sweethearts realizing their marriage is falling apart because they stopped communicating with each other work to fix their marriage by, understanding love languages, fighting for the person you love, quirky couples therapy, and supporting each other’s dreams is amazing. I always love a story where people fall back in love. However, there was some stuff that I just really didn’t like.
First off what I did like. Dominic’s unnoticed acts that he did for his wife even when they were hardly speaking was so sweet. How perfect he thought she was was also just ugh the cutest. Also I loved how Rosie was fighting for what made her happy but also recognized she stopped trying in the relationship too but all she wanted was to love him. My biggest take away though was that this book made me love Travis and Georgie from fix her up even more!
Now the biggest thing that really made me rate this lower was their biggest problem was miscommunication, which is like my least favorite thing. But also the big moment in the book where the relationship implodes had SUCH AN EASY SOLUTION! A solution that could have literally been figured out mid way into the book with ONE CONVERSATION! Like ugh I was getting so annoyed. It made me just want the book to end. Lastly, the sexual content took away from the plot. As I’ve said in other Tessa Bailey books, she definitely is more on the detailed side with her sex scenes but they usually help grow the couples relationship. In this book it was just focused on so much that I was bored with it. Like we get it.
All in all I give it a meh.

This one was definitely the best out of the series. At first I didn’t love idea of a 23 year old guy and a 30 year old woman just for the sheer fact that there is no way a 23 year old guy was mature enough for anything. However, Wes was amazing and I just tried to forget about his age. This book was funny, Wes and Bethany were so cute. I loved getting more insight into Georgie and Travis after their book and the little bit of Rosie and Dominic that we got was great. The insanity that is Kristin and Stephen was so entertaining it itself. Laura was honestly my favorite part, she was so cute and brought out the best of Wes and Bethany.
I would have given this book 4.5 stars easily but it drives me nuts when characters move to quickly. I don’t believe that after being with someone for 3 weeks (basically 1 officially) they’d have all the thoughts and commitment that this book ended with. That just really bugged me. If that would have been added into the epilogue that would have been 10000x better. However, I still loved the book!
