The Maid by Nita Prose
4.0
Flew through this book in a day. It was a bit predictable but a really relaxing read. If you like Only Murders in the Building, you’ll like this. I only knocked off a few points because the dialogue felt really odd at times and it took me out. Over all I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to read more murder mysteries
“The longer you live, the more you learn. People are a mystery that can never be solved. Life has a way of sorting itself out. Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”

It’s as if The Handmaid’s Tale and Lord of the Flies had a baby with a bit of Hunger Games thrown in. This book is powerful and intense.

Romance isn’t usually my cup of tea.
This book was hilarious and every character felt like such a real person. The love between Brianna and Jacob felt so real and honest.
I have never cried while reading and man, this one got me. Cannot wait to read more from this writer!
“We’re all a little broken, Briana. We are a mosaic. We’re made up of all those we’ve met and all the things we’ve been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful. And I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn’t exist.”

Keep It In The Family by John Marrs

I only rated this three stars because the bones of the story is really interesting. It was so boring and dull
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

I really wanted to like this book because the subject matter was so up my alley. However, I really disliked the structure of this book. I feel like we weren’t given enough time to care about the characters. I think the author wanted the ending to be a plot twist but it just did not land.
The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

I just do not think Lucy Foley books are for me. The broad strokes of this story is great, but very little actually happens on screen (or on page I should say). This just made for a very dull read that I was just waiting to finish
Truly, Devious by Maureen Johnson, Maureen Johnson

Such a fantastic mystery! Really had a nostalgic feel to me. I only knocked a star off because some of the side characters were a bit too quirky for my liking but I loved this book and I will definitely read to sequels eventually!
