These poems perfectly capture how I feel in love and in heartbreak. Thank you Megan for validating my tsunami sized feelings and letting me that I'm not alone.

This book made me laugh and cry. It was a poignant manifestation of some of my deepest fears at this moment in my life. I'm Hannah's age, unpartnered, and ready for whatever is next. This book gave me hope that there are multiple paths forward to those next steps, regardless of what choice I make at any moment in my life.

Such a fun thriller! Had me on the edge of my toes throughout. It was hard to wait for the flashback chapters to reveal more of what happened, and sometime non-linear stories frustrate me, but this one was well-done. Ultimately though, I disagree with the characters and wish that they would just let the truth set them free.

I love the age gap and female empowerment aspects of this story, but the way that Solene hides the relationship from her daughter was frustrating. Also no HEA... lame! Can't wait for the movie though.

Really interesting, freshly authentic. Gave me a new appreciation for the band I love. Also as someone on a mental health journey, I appreciated the candor with which Joe shares his struggles and victories. It gave me hope.

I’m mostly just proud of myself for actually finishing a book, as I’ve been in a months long reading slump. I definitely want to do more reading from here. And I think women’s fiction might be a good genre for me. Slow reads, no pressure.

As for this book specifically. It was very interesting and a powerful look at what it meant to be light skinned black during the early 1900s. I do love the idea of the Morgan Library. The complicated love arrangements were messy,  but also propelled the book forward. A pleasant read.
