"A profoundly...intimate thing, a letter, isn't it?"
I loved Tiffy and Leon's story by the end of this book but the first half was a little difficult to get through. I also wasn't expecting the weightier subject matter, which wasn't bad and actually added to it. I think I got caught up in all the hype I've heard over this book and that may be why it fell a bit flat for me. All in all, it was a really sweet story, it just didn't grab my attention the way I expected it to.

"...eternity awaits."
This book still holds a spot in my heart. Although it will never hit the same as the first read, it was still so eye opening to read through it a second time and able to absorb all the things I missed the first time around. The heart in this book is something I rarely experience from most reads. The last bit of this book is the epitome of what I love in a story. I plan to read ACOWAR so that I can finally read the two books that follow but it may be a minute before I work up to that absolute BRICK (respectfully) of a book.

"I want daisies in your hair."

This is still a five-star for me. This book is what made Lucy Score an insta-buy author for me. This hits all the marks I love in a story, and the stakes are just high enough for me.
Knox and Naomi are hilarious (Knox Knox jokes lol), and I'm a sucker for the single parent trope and an even bigger sucker for small town stories. Especially when the small town is like a big family.
Despite knowing what was going to happen this time around, I was still laughing out loud and giddy in all the right places. This book is like a big hug and I'm always happy to come back to it.

"...love may come and go, but hate lasts forever."

I've had a hard time reading lately. This is the roughest slump I've ever been in. I think audiobooks are going to be the short term solution for me until things get closer to normal again. I've also been going back through my favorites list, especially the ones I've been meaning to reread so I can complete the series.
I'm still a sucker for grumpy sunshine but I still keep this at a 4 star because of the tail end (not the actual ending though.) When he leaves her while she's sick in a hospital bed, it's hard for me to feel sorry for the guy. I understand it's because he was scared but I am convinced I would have been 100% sold if somehow the big gesture was...more? Idk how one would do that but the gesture he made was because of her but it was also the right thing to do. Finding a way to big gesture directly to her as well would have sealed the deal for me. I just needed a pinch more there at the end.
All in all, this is still one of my favorite books and definitely a comfort read for me.

I am really excited to read this and this is usually right up my alley but, right now, I am about 3 months pregnant and I don't think I can handle the level of emotion wrapped up in this one. I will return to it once the hormones aren't raging through my body.

"If it's not you then there's no point!"
I have been waiting for this volume to print for so long and I'm so glad it's finally here. I really enjoy the dynamic between Sakura and Tatsuki. Neither character is fully the grumpy or sunshine character, but rather the qualities are shared between them. There are lots of funny moments as well as adult ones. The evolution of their relationship is exciting to watch. I can't wait for the next volume!

I wanted to love this so much but about halfway through something just lost it's grip on me. Everything about this book screams that I should love it but I can't seem to get myself to pick it up again. I've put it aside for the future but for now it's a hard 'no,' from me. I think the killing blow was a particular situation became too convoluted and didn't resonate with me in a way that I understood. The writing was great, references were top tier, even the consistent awareness of the importance of consent was much appreciated. It's just this one tangle of events that threw me off kilter and I'm not 100% on why. Hopefully, after some time away, I can revisit it with new eyes.

"F**k you, it rhymes in Galtish."
I wholeheartedly loved this book. It reacquainted me with everything I love about this genre. The author is so witty and had me laughing throughout the entire story. Reading this feels like you are casually sitting with Kinch at a local tavern while he recounts his adventures to you, which made it feel all the more real. I look forward to seeing where the open doors at the end lead us but am also looking forward to the prequel that is in the works. This has easily become one of my all time favorites and I will definitely be grabbing more of this author's work to read in the near future.

"But this was the forest, and it was winter."
I'm glad to have revisited this world again. This book has one of my all time favorite book moments in it so I was excited to experience that again. I'm hoping to make it through the whole series this time. Last time I had been on a Fantasy binge for over a year and had to stop after the third. I enjoyed getting to revisit certain characters and getting to go back into the story with more information. This book still holds it's own even when you know what's going to happen.

"It's me. He's alive."
Holy cliffhanger! We've had some smaller ones along the way but this one takes the cake. We get to see Yuri and Oya celebrate her birthday together before one phone call ruins it all. Mao is already showing to be the perfect villain. The history between him and the Oya syndicate makes it all the more enticing. It looks like the next volume is going to be wild!
