I appreciated that the poems are in chronological order. They gradually become better the more you read, but that being said, some periods were painful to get through. Repetition is continuous throughout. At certain points I felt like I was re-reading poems. By the end of this, I found myself emotionally exhausted by how truly depressing her work is. Oh, and she constantly uses carbon monoxide as a metaphor so, someone shouldn’t have left her alone with the oven. Overall, they were all beautifully written despite being bleak. I technically would give this 4.5 stars but I’m not “allowed.”

You legally cannot give F Scott anything less than 3 stars but I almost did. The only “tragedy” Amory experiences in the novel is he gets dumped after a lifetime of treating women as disposable objects. I skim-read after him & Rosalind said they loved each other after 2 weeks. But I did really like the quote, “It was always the becoming he dreamed of, never the being.” :P

I am a harlot for books with dead narrators but I lost my shit when the author compared the disappearing ghost to Swiss cheese. It was entertaining enough to finish, but for the most part I felt like I was on Wattpad.com other than the few rare brilliant quotes about love never being enough :,)
