I'm absolutely obsessed with Cassandra and everyone who is mean to her can go jump off a cliff šŸ˜Œ.

I feel like this one was less focused on the relationship and more focused on the overarching plot. It definitely set the stage for the next couple books and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Okay so yes I knew this was going to end in a cliffhanger but i'm still upset about it because oh my gosh šŸ˜. How are you gonna just do that to me??

Another from J Rose that I freaking flew through. The slow burn here is soooo good. There's so much freaking tension that sooner or later it's going to explode and be fantastic.

I'm not super sure how I feel on all the guys yet except for Axel. He's unhinged as heck and exactly my type: walking red flag. I hope Ember eats them all alive like the queen she is.

Next book please šŸ„²

This was so freaking CUTE. Like giggle kick your feet worthy. Ugh these guys were just amazing.

Dair was my favorite. We love when a man goes from a jerk to "mine" in a single chapter. It just makes my little heart happy. He becomes a jerk for her instead of to her and that's him working on himself.

Bast was my golden retriever. He's just so sweet and happy and nice to everyone. He tried to make friends with Ivy before he even knew she was theirs and just ugh swoon. Ash was super sweet, too. He was kind of my middle of the road guy. He could be sweet, he could be a jerk, but he was always absolutely devoted to Ivy.

Ivy deserves nothing but good things in her life and honestly it's not up for debate. She's perfect, talks to and freaking names animals, and just cares about everyone and everything.

It did get a little spice heavy for me towards the end but that's probably because I was so invested in the plot itself.

One word. Trauma.

I am truly unwell after this. I would like to thank the authors for the gifted arc and all of the trauma because I will eat it up every time.

I knew going into this that it was going to be something I really enjoyed but I didnā€™t know how much I was going to absolutely love it. This is a thicc book and I spent every spare moment I could reading because I needed more and I needed to finish.

The mental health rep was incredible. They do a fantastic job of showing just what trauma can do to people. Summer constantly wars with herself over almost everything because she feels she doesnā€™t deserve love or kindness and it breaks your freaking heart. She deserves only good things in this world and I will hear no more of it.

Alice??? Perfection. No notes. She could unalive me and I would thank her profusely for it. I was so freaking suspicious of Connor for a large portion of the book. He was just so good and kind I was like šŸ‘€šŸ‘€ thereā€™s something sus here but I love him too.

The vibes were on point, the tension was šŸ¤ŒšŸ»šŸ¤ŒšŸ»šŸ¤ŒšŸ», and man the spice was SPICING. Even with it being as long as it was it was so easy to stay engaged. There were never any lulls and it never felt like there was just filler. All was as it should be šŸ˜Œ.

Book two please. I need it in my brain.

While I overall did enjoy this there were a couple of issues for me. The set up was fantastic. We got a quick and spicy intro to the characters and all of their drama which I loved and set the stage really well for the rest of the book. The plot was really interesting and the spice was SPICING. Where I had issues was the speed.

Everything happens so quickly that I feel a lot is left out. I have so many unanswered questions about the characters themselves. I was just left wanting a lot more.

The author states at the end that the next book is twice as long so Iā€™ll definitely be picking that up. The ending was set up for it to go several different ways so Iā€™m excited to see which lane it takes.

This was a super cute and fun read. Itā€™s one of those easy to read books where you know youā€™re gonna have a good time and it did not disappoint šŸ˜Œ

I feel a little all over the place with this one. I really liked some parts but other parts gave me a bit of an ick. Overall it was a really good time but I just didn't love some parts.

The dialogue was one of the things I was back and forth on. So much of it was SO FUNNY. I giggled, I kicked my feet, all the good stuff. Trista especially could be really funny. But then sometimes she would say something and Iā€™m like but why? What was the point?? I also dislike that she referred to herself as a cow. I totally understand why as sheā€™s trying to detach herself from the pregnancy, but with her being plus size and occasionally making critical comments about herself it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I really like that Wyatt wanted to take care of her. He saw that she didnā€™t have anyone looking out for her and he just wanted to do all the things. Even when she was a bit of a jerk about it he still made sure she was taken care and that made me love him so much šŸ„¹. And his family all coming together to make Trista realize that she really could rely on people?? Obsessed.

Thank you to the publisher for the gifted arc

While I enjoyed the first one, I just did not like this one.

I thought the dialogue in some parts was so ridiculous and over the top it actually became silly. I didn't feel like they loved and cared for her. It was just so over the top for me that it was flat. I felt nothing.

I disliked that several of them were already engaging in a sexual relationship with her before discussing consent. There's a part in here, after the sex has begun, where she admits she didn't know that she could say no to physical contact. Like. Wut.

The pet names were said wayyyy too much. I read the words kitten, angel, and sugar so much they honestly stopped looking like words at a certain point. And it makes no sense to me that after all the trauma she's been through she's just fine with all these guys.

By the end I was mostly skimming.

This was overall just a really fun read. I lost count of how many times I actually snorted or cackled because they're both a bit ridiculous in the best way.

Devin definitely grated on me a bit at first. He was such a self centered jerk and like I get it. Famous his whole life, lots of money, super hot but like dude get over yourself šŸ™„. It was really great watching his development the more he was around Alex. She made him want to care about and be good for things other than himself.

Alex was definitely my favorite. She has this whole fake I don't care what everyone thinks because I hate them all attitude going on and Devin clocks her almost immediately. While she's showing him to care he shows her that it's okay to open up šŸ„¹. I do definitely think she forgave him waaaaay too easily for some of the stuff he said though. She held on to a grudge for years but let that stuff just roll right off? šŸ‘€.

It really was just a fun book. It was silly, talked about my beloved ao3, and had some pretty fun spice.
Fable for the End of the World by Ava Reid

This truly is a love letter to the dystopian ya of the 2010s. You get the same feelings that you got when reading books like The Hunger Games but with more of the issues we face in the world today. Ava Reid excels at providing a compelling and thought provoking narrative while still giving a story that you donā€™t want to put down.

In a world, much like our own, where woman are valued for their looks before anything else MelinoĆ« is an assassin. Part human and part machine she is the perfect weapon. She is also, however, extremely beautiful. The assassins, or Angels as theyā€™re called in the book, are forced to undergo elective cosmetic procedures because who would watch the gauntlet and sponsor them if the killers werenā€™t beautiful?

Enter Inesa. The girl who was nominated to the gauntlet by her mother who just couldnā€™t stop spending money they didnā€™t have. She wants to live. She wants to live for herself, for her brother, and because she still believes in love and goodness in the world. You could really tell how strained her relationship was with her family. Her mom obviously didnā€™t care about her at all and her brother seemed almost indifferent towards her at the beginning. Trauma can cause relationships to change and twist and thatā€™s definitely something that you can see here.

I really loved reading the relationship aspects of this book. Inesa slowly showed MelinoĆ« that there were still people who believed in goodness and helping one another just because you want to and not because youā€™ll get anything out of it. When MelinoĆ« finally decided that she wanted more? That she deserved more? That was probably my favorite part.
