I got into women's soccer this year because of the world cup and seeing this book was being released in the middle of my newfound obsession OF COURSE I had to read it as soon as it came out, specially since a lot of people were positively talking about it and I was obsessed with Mistakes Were Made, so a soccer romance from Meryl Wilsner sounded like heaven to me.

I don't wanna say I'm disappointed cause I'm not, but I think I was expecting more(? from it, or at least something different(? I don't know if I'm making sense. Also, there's a couple things that were not of my liking and gave me a bit of an ick but those are probably just me.

Anyway, this was still an entertaining read like I could not stop reading!! the adhd representation was good and it scared me how much I could relate to phoebe. it has enough soccer but since I'm obsessed with the sport I still wish we could've gotten more πŸ˜… specially cause the epilogue felt a bit underwhelming considering the world cup was heavily mentioned throughout the whole book but it was just like three pages in the end

I really liked this! as a short story I think it works well but it does feel rushed sometimes and it skips over some important stuff that one has to assume so I would get why some people wouldn't like it or be disappointed. I do wish it was longer so we could have a proper development of the characters and story and more exposure to the setting cause it was very interesting! It def has more potential.

also, the art is so so beautiful and those last few pages at the end where they show the making process are pretty cool!

I saw this book on the storygraph's giveaways tab and, as a cat lover and owner myself, i KNEW i had to sign up for it and im so glad i won! this is for sure one of the cutest things I've ever read/seen and im happy that people are making books of this quality for children. But even if you're not a kid this is still very enjoyable! I could totally relate to it and even learned new things about my cat's behavior! I loved that it showed cats and kids from so many cultures around the world and I have to say that as a women's soccer fan i beamed when Marta was mentioned 😭

Thank you so much to Science, Naturally! and to Platypus Media for sending me this book. Kudos to the author and Illustrator for making such a good product!

after almost 2 years of this book being in my tbr i finally read it and im not disappointed!

it was an easy and quick read. i just kept reading and reading nonstop even though i was exasperated most of the time because of hani insufferable "friends" πŸ™„πŸ˜. still, seeing hani and ishu go from total strangers deciding to fake date, to actually becoming a couple, was very cute. but i must say that ishus situation with her sister is what touched me the most since i could relate to some of the things they experienced. i think the relationships of hani and ishu with their families were definitely a highlight in this book.

i am now princess diana's #1 defender and im so serious.

ive always known about her and her title as "people's princess", but i never looked for details about her and her life even though I was always interested in knowing more about the princess. this year i joined the storygraphs genre challenge and one of the prompts was reading a biography and when i found about this book i just knew i had to pick it up and read it.

in general I think it was a great and detailed biography, though at times repetitive. being able to read the princess's own words is something that i highly appreciate as well as the addition of "the aftermath".

i was shocked and sad throughout the whole book and i just couldn't believe some of the things princess diana had to deal with. i hope, wherever she is, she knows how important her legacy is to the world and that she could finally peacefully rest in a better place.
