it took a bit for this book to hook me, but once it did i couldn't stop reading, i needed to know how this would end and i was not disappointed!

I can definitely picture this getting a movie adaptation like coraline 🙈

i am now princess diana's #1 defender and im so serious.

ive always known about her and her title as "people's princess", but i never looked for details about her and her life even though I was always interested in knowing more about the princess. this year i joined the storygraphs genre challenge and one of the prompts was reading a biography and when i found about this book i just knew i had to pick it up and read it.

in general I think it was a great and detailed biography, though at times repetitive. being able to read the princess's own words is something that i highly appreciate as well as the addition of "the aftermath".

i was shocked and sad throughout the whole book and i just couldn't believe some of the things princess diana had to deal with. i hope, wherever she is, she knows how important her legacy is to the world and that she could finally peacefully rest in a better place.

went in thinking this was just going to be some okay summer story but OH WOW. I didn't expect to get attached (and a lot of times relate) this much with the main characters and their feelings, and it definitely didn't make me tear up a couple times 🤡

seeing them overcome their fears and become a better version of themselves made me just as happy as they were. and idk it made me feel very hopeful in general so, even if its not the best thing ever, I can't get myself to give it anything less than 5 stars just for that fact

i seriously couldn't find any reason to not give this book 5 stars.

the carlisle duology as a whole its so good. i loved the first book and it was the perfect introduction for vivian and jules' story, going from assistant/boss to being each other's significant other.

but the second book did the impossible, which is being even better. usually, romances go until both parts get together and maybe a bit after that, so it's nice to read stories about two people doing everything to stay together and not so much *get* together (idk if that makes sense tho 😭)

the communication got SO much better like seriously, it was so comforting seeing jules and vivian talk their minds and get through whatever problems they had, i definitely liked how the power dynamic was treated since stories like this one tend to overlook it.

but OMG the chemistry 😭😫🤒 i can't seem to stop thinking about them nor i think i will anytime soon.

i really hope they have their happily ever after with felicity, they for sure deserve it.
