Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

I knew the ending of the book from the beginning, yet I still couldn't help hoping that something would happen to change the outcome as impossible as that was. I also wondered what my feelings towards Hannah would be at the end. The short answers is "I don't know". While reading I couldn't stop thinking about that old saying, “Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me". I always thought those where some of the untruest words ever spoken. Words can break you, just not physically. This book shows you how much power words and seemingly small interpersonal interactions can have and create a negative snowball effect.

I felt the guilt, pain, regret and helplessness of Clay so much that I questioned why Hannah would involve him and at the same time wondered if I should feel sympathy for him, since I didn't know his involvement until later on.
April & Oliver by Tess Callahan

I don't know how to rate this book. I think Tess Callahan is a talented writer. I went through the emotions April was going through from feeling numb to what I saw as self hatred, which to me is why she's in a abusive relationship, if you want to call it a relationship. I wouldn't put this book in the romance genre, which is where a lot of people put it. I guess I just like my romance novels with romance in it. They were always on the verge of something happening, but nothing ever did, which gets frustrating. This book ends on a higher note than it started on, but seeing that the book starts with a funeral, that's not hard to accomplish. I didn't like the ending. Unless it's a series that will continue, I like my endings to be as definite as possible.

I really liked Zoe, who was a very unique character. She's a tattoo artist and the front person for an edgy band, but that doesn't mean that she's hard or bitchy. She's done a lot of living in her 27 years and has her share of regrets, baggage and problems.

Liam also has his own issues and a history with Zoe. When he re-connects with her, he rushes in playing the alpha trying to fix her. Zoe isn't the type of girl that wants somebody to fix her, especially Liam.

I love their fights. There's a lot packed into a relatively short book, seeing that so much happens. Yet, the development of Zoe's and Liam's relationship never feels rushed or contrived.

The ending was perfect.

Twilight is the story of Edward and Bella’s romance. Bella is a realistic character. She's shy and lacking in confidence. Her sarcastic inner voice narrates the story. The descriptions of Forks leave you feeling like you can almost smell the damp air, feel the rain and see the world through green-tinted glasses. The romance between Edward and Bella is both touching and compelling. There is a melancholic feel to their impossible love, but they both are unwilling to give up hope that their relationship is not doomed. It's epic like Romeo & Juliet and/or Titanic with a twist and hopefully without a similar tragic ending.
A Taste of Midnight by Lara Adrian

I enjoyed seeing how Danika is doing and how she is coping since the lost of her Breedmate, Conlan. A Taste of Midnight is fast-paced and would of been too fast if Danika and Malcolm didn't have a past.

I didn't expect there to be so much excitement and action, but only because I thought there wouldn't be enough time since it's a quick read. It's everything I expect from a Midnight Breed book.

SpoilerThere are hints that this might not be the last time we see Danika and her new Breedmate.

This tale is about a remarkable young woman named Coraline and not Caroline which people call her all the time. Recently she and her parents moved into a old houses that has been converted into apartments. Both of her parents work at home and sometimes she feels a bit ignored and bored. She is encouraged to explore and so she does. Her apartment has 21 windows and 14 doors. Only one door is locked and when unlocked only leads to a brick wall, most of the time.

This is my first book for kids that I've read since I was a kid myself and it's a book that I think adults can enjoy as well. I would also recommend the movie.
