Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

I listened to this book after watching the series and while there were some major changes made to the film adaptation, I still loved them both in their own right.
Because I watched the series before reading the book, I was aware of the overall storyline & plot twists, but the book held my attention nonetheless.
This book left me feeling extremely empowered as a woman and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading book with strong female leads.

This book was fantastic- granted, I only rate books based on how well they held my interest and how predicable they are.
We started with no information about what happened to Owen, then slowly gained more insight as Hannah did some digging in the present and also learned more through flash back memories she has.
It kept me guessing until the end, but the plot twists weren't SO out there that you couldn't figure out how they fit in with the story.
A lot of people probably won't like how the story ended, but I'm the kind of person who enjoys these kind of endings.

Also-if the last 3 words of the book don't make you want to cry, I don't think we could be friends.

This book was just not my cup of tea & I only read it because a friend recommended it, so take this review how you will.
I just couldn't bring myself to care about the characters. It felt like an overdone storyline of good girl accidently falls for bad boy. Maybe the series gets better 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I wouldn't know because I didn't even want to finish this book so I didn't continue on with the series.

I'm far from being a professional book reviewer and give ratings almost solely based on how well a book kept my attention and how predictable the plot was.

The ending of this book was very disappointing. I was hoping for a "wow! I didn't see that coming, but now that I know, it is painfully obvious" and instead got a "there's absolutely no way in hell you would ever have been able to have guessed this" type ending.
Except I guess I should have been able to guess it because it had the exact same out of left field "plot twist" that a book I read last month had.

I'm pretty sure I added this audiobook to my TBR pile because I usually adore Imogen Church's narrations.

Despite how big of a let down the ending was, this book was able to keep my attention. I was hoping that the various story lines would all fall together into a cohesive "oooohhhh-it all makes sense now" moment. But that moment never happened.

Lastly, the entire plot just felt a little all over the place with the various storylines, and parts of it felt rushed. Much like this all over the place review.

This book wasn't terrible, but I've definitely read better. It held my attention, and I did like how the chapters switched between the husband and wife's perspective. However, the plot was semi predictable, and I just wanted there to be more to what was going on.
How Y'All Doing?: Misadventures and Mischief from a Life Well Lived by Leslie Jordan

I absolutely LOVED this book!
Leslie's narration made it even more wonderful.

There were random tangents that made no sense until they did.

There were funny stories that made me LOL- like a literal out loud laugh, not the fake little snort that usually happens when you type lol.

There were tidbits of heartfelt life advice.

It reminded me of my late grandpa telling his random stories.

The only complaint I have was that the book ended. I could listen to Leslie Jordan tell stories forever.

This is the first book of Kiersten Modglin's that I didn't love.

It was an interesting story and kept my attention, but much of the plot did not surprise me.

Fantastic book!
I'm far from a professional book reviewer and rate books solely based on how well they keep my attention and how surprised I am by any plot twists.
That being said, I did not want to stop reading this book. The truth behind the lies is slowly revealed through each characters perspective.
After each plot twist was revealed, I felt incredibly dumb for not having guessed what was happening.
I don't often recommend books, but if you like mysteries with untrustworthy narrators, this is a great pick!

Eragon meets the Hunger Games and adds in a couple of spicey scenes.
That's it. That's the whole book.
Oh-also, I forgot to mention the incredibly predictable plotline.

Unpopular opinion, I know, but I did not like this book at all.

Granted, fantasy & adventure & romance are all genes I'm not a huge fan of, so take this review how you will.

Disclaimer: I'm far from being a professional book reviewer and I rate almost exclusively based on how well the book kept my attention, and how surprised I was by any plot twists.

I absolutely LOVED this book!! After having invested hours of time into reading the first 2 books, I was paranoid that the conclusion to this trilogy would disappoint me. It did not.
I'd give it 57/5 stars if I could!

If you enjoy characters you love to hate and/or hate to love, this series is for you!

Like the two books before it, this one alternates between Peter & Ainsley's perspectives. There are more secrets revealed, and if you pay close attention you might be able to see some of them coming.
