Maura always does an exceptional job when it comes to her books but Luca & Valentina’s story didn’t intrigue me as much as the first (Ares & Raven) & third book (Dion & Faye). Out of the Windsors’ series, TUM would have to my most favorite, the wrong bride then temporary wife. While each book has their own unique stories, I do see a little repetitiveness as mentioned by other reviewers. Nonetheless it was still enjoyable! While book 1 & 3, Grandma Anne didn’t annoy me - I did find her a little annoying in this one. What I loved most from this book, was that Val’s family (aside from her father) were very loving towards her & she didn’t come from a messed up family compare to book 1 & 3. Once again, the Windsors siblings succeeds in winning my heart, especially the moment of heart to heart shared between Dion & Val. Luca & Val’s relationship had a lot of insecurities but I’m glad they were able to work through it & fight until the end. The 10 years later epilogue was a bonus to the story! Easily one of my top favorite series this year.

I picked up TUM on a whim & after reading the wrong bride, i’m fully convinced that i’ll love anything that Maura writes. Like TUM, I wanted to savor every page of the wrong bride. Heard of “right person, wrong time”? but if you ever wondered when the right time is & how it was gonna be like; the wrong bride is a perfect read. Raven & Ares were fated to be, Hannah was just a test of fate & Grandma Anne definitely had to right her wrongs. A lot of readers hated Grandma Anne cause she’s always meddling in every family-relations, but I never found her annoying. She seems like shes doing what she feel is best for her owns even if most can agree she goes on about it the wrong way. But can we talk about the Windsors’ family overall? I am a huge sucker for close knit siblings/family. The way the Windsors treat each other to the person they marry to is just so… comforting. My favorite scene is when all the Windsors’ siblings showed up to Silas’ house to be there for Raven. I hated the way her family continuously just takes & invalidated her when all she wants is to please them. I was proud when Raven started speaking up/standing up for herself & being selfish when it came to her happiness. I also loved the whole thing of “moment of honesty” shared between Raven & Ares! While Raven overthinks herself to death, I’m glad there was barely any miscommunication. They’re the definition of what communication should look like in a relationship. The smut is *chefs kiss* and I live for the drama in the series. This is easily one of my favorite series I’ve read this year!

nothing like the first book, very triggering but i loved EVERY bit of it. while we got enough of the smut & romance in the first duet, the second was one hell of a heartbreak but i promise you; it is worth it to push through to the end. read the trigger warnings PLS before you pick it up & read to realize its not your cup of tea. its VERY graphic & detailed so beware because your mental health matters. i went straight to book 2 since haunting ends on a cliffhanger & because i’m too impatient to wait. at first it was hard because damn it was nothing i expected, i even had to google how much more i had to read before it gets better. the way the story came out at the end was a masterpiece. I don’t think i’ll ever stop recommending the cat & mouse duet to others. h.d. carlton has become one of my favorite authors this year. her writing and story telling keeps you on your toes & engaging. also to the haters, this book in no way romanticizes anything - its a freaking book with fictional characters & if you can’t draw the line between reality and fiction; you need help. i also need therapy after reading this too (for other reasons ofc

i’ve had this book on my tbr for a while & am glad i decided to give it a go! it’s my first hockey romance & a little different from my usual subgenre reads but i had a lot of fun reading it. it was hilarious & sooo much drama to keep me entertained. i hope they make this into a movie one day! i felt like i was in a reality tv show or one of those sappy romcoms (which i love) movies. stassie & nate’s relationship development was well written & i loved the way it flourished. aaron is just a party pooper who deserved his ending

i’ve been recommended this duet so many times since i’ve started reading again back in april & surprisingly i did manage to pick up book #1 in may but 20% in i set it aside to come back to later. i didn’t realize i was such a mood reader until this month! i’ve been binging on dark romances w/ serial killer tropes & the duet was a perfect read. i devoured the duet within two days even though book #1 was a bit slow. book #2 really picked up the pace, the romance between mara & cole was basically non-existent in book 1 but in book 2 - their relationship really started to develop as they dived deeper into each other’s past. i’m glad i was patient enough to stick it through because i loved every bit of it. the man who never loved anyone ends up loving the girl who was never loved by anyone. the way they complimented each other; mara & cole was made for one another. the thrillll was the cherry on top & a well deserved ending!

i picked this book up back in may & around 20% i decided to put it down & return later because it was bit slow for me (i was looking for fast-paced at the time). fast forward, i decided to give it go again & once i picked it up, i couldn’t put it back down. patience was what i really needed & i loved the way it played out. sophie’s writing style is different from what i’m use too but it grew on me like the story! i liked the bit of crime placed into the story & serial killer vibes. there wasn’t much romance between cole & mara (more on the side of him just being possessive from a small distance) but i was eagerly reading for the plot! i’ve just started reading serial killer tropes so it worked out for me. the illustrations & songs place through out the chapters were awesome as well, kept me engaged (i’m a visual reader). i also found the book a bit funny with the way sophie occasionally adds some weirdness into it. i’m excited to start on the next part of the duet!

one of the most unhinged books i’ve ever read! i recently stumbled upon molly & so far have enjoyed everything i’ve read from her. i love dark romance but something about horror romance just draws me in. gory, horror, and smutty violence - this was the perfect read to welcome august/spky szn! make sure to read trigger warnings cause this book is a very dark erotic horror. i’ve never read two batshit crazy mc’s; it’s usually just one sided but with caution tape; it was one hell of ride to read! i can’t wait for the second book to come out cause i’m dyinnng to know what happens to cora and nolan.

while i love insta-love & medium burn books, this book was a slow burn that was very rewarding & satisfying once it picked up. about halfway through, i couldn’t put the book down! it’s such an intriguing story, and i couldn’t help but be sucked in. the hallow boys are my new ✨ addiction ✨ there was soo much tension between briar & alistair. the character development was well written along with the plot. the plot kept me on edge along with the build up between the fmc & mmc! i absolutely loved briar, her character was bold & brave. watching her embrace her dark side & started truly living was satisfying & while alistair was unhinged & angry, seeing his soft side was the cherry on top. i also like the side characters especially lyra and hope that she has her own story in the series. the dark humor moments were quite entertaining too. if you love slow burn, enemies to lover, bullying romance, crime/mystery plots - this is the perfect read. i definitely know i’ll be devouring the rest of the series.
