I enjoyed this book from the start - especially the main character being a man, the diary entries, and the unpredictable twist! I analyzed every character I came across and tried to figure out who did it, but I was wrong the entire time.
After the big twist, though, I started having mixed feelings about the book. The ending is what I didn’t enjoy about The Silent Patient. I was left with so many questions - which could be a good thing - but the ending felt rushed.. and like there was unfinished business. Either way, I still enjoyed the book.

The very first few chapters gave me Madeleine McCann vibes which I found very intriguing. And I was interested to see how the story of this book will turn out considering the similarities.
I was disappointed with how predictable and almost “bland” this book was. The plots were ok, but nothing exciting. It was missing the thrill

What I liked:
The storyline - a locked room murder mystery
The Christmasy setting - a dreamy mountain lodge in the middle of a snowy winter wonderland (until the snow storm hits)
Makes you wonder whodunnit
POVs of all characters
Suspenseful
What I didn't like:
Too many characters - I felt overwhelmed especially at the beginning trying to figure out who's who (I listened to the audiobook which made it even more difficult)
The story execution - while suspenseful, the thrill was missing

“A friend once told me that if you have to ask if you can trust someone, you already know the answer.”
This captivating read had me wanting more from the very beginning. I was pulled into this book just as Jessica was by the harmless morality and ethics study. Not thinking too much about it. But the farther we got, the more twisted it became.
There’s a fine line between love and obsession. And Dr. Shields has clearly crossed it.
On the outside: confident, elegant, and successful.
In the inside: manipulative, obsessive, insane.
I loved the story line - the research project definitely sparked my interest. Listening to the audiobook version made it even more enjoyable with the different voices.

In this book Rowan is writing her lawyer from prison trying to explain how she ended up where she is now. From accepting the job as a Nanny to care for the 4 (annoying, irritating, and bratty) children and moving into the family’s big “smart” home, to suspicious and creepy activity at night (creaking floors, movement in the attic, missing objects) and to top it off - a dead child.
I absolutely loved this book! Some say the ending was a bit rushed but I don’t recall it being that.

Ok what a PSYCHOlogical thriller, you guys!
This twisty read will have your head spinning long after you finished it

The Wife Upstairs had a lot of similarities to The Housemaid and I couldn’t help but compare the two books to each other. Another live-in job, another handsome husband, another naïve and gullible female main character, and a very similar plot twist.
I didn’t love the narration; the voice was a bit annoying, and the several plot twists were predictable. I was hoping for a strong female lead instead of the naive and foolish female character(s).
I’m sure I would have enjoyed it more if I read it at a different time.

The Good Sister was a super quick entertaining read! A domestic mystery with a little bit of romance, sister love, and murder. I was drawn to Fern and loved her quirky and quite literal character. I found it interesting how she went through her day and coped with her sensory issues (I was convinced she was on the spectrum). Her relationship to her twin sister, Rose, was definitely one of a kind. Also, let’s not forget about Wally/Waldo!
This book didn’t have the seriousness of thrillers at all, which was good for a change. There were funny and silly moments as well as suspenseful ones. I enjoyed the dual POVs plus the diary entries of Rose. It does get twisty towards the end which I enjoyed as well!
If you’re looking for a lighter read with an entertaining storyline and some fun characters, this one is definitely it!

Hello, Transcriber was such a gripping book! I was hooked just a few chapters in - which then lead to wanting to read “just one more chapter” when it was way past my bedtime already.
This book gives you all the feels - between feeling creeped out, fascinated, irritated, a lil hot and steamy.. there’s definitely such a big mixture of emotions. In a good way!
I never thought about what it’d be like to be a police transcriber. Hazel shows us what that’s like and this book drew me in because of that! How crazy, amazing, interesting, fascinating?! It’s like you’re the first one to hear about the tea

The Perfect Marriage was such a great read! I was hooked just a few pages in and thoroughly enjoyed it. This book made me feel all types of emotions - anger, frustration, disbelief.. I do have to mention that Eleanor was infuriating and testing my patience.. and the author did such a great job at that
