The Phantom Atlas: The Greatest Myths, Lies and Blunders on Maps by Edward Brooke-Hitching
5.0
Very good book about the truly weird and wonderful things people made up and believed about the world around us. The ones you can still see on google maps are the worst offenders!
Unnatural Causes by Richard Shepherd

Very good book, not for the faint-hearted but not as graphic as it could be. It's more upsetting both in the strains on his mental health and the true stories of what people can do to each other. The fact it's not fiction makes it all the more poignant, and it is a very educational read.
Battle Scars: A Story of War and All That Follows by Jason Fox

A very open and honest account of the effects on mental health of being in the army, with anecdotes from his time serving and personal life. I'd give it 5 stars but it was a little repetitive in places, but I suppose for those who haven't experienced the slow and ever-present drag of mental health issues may not appreciate how pervasive and all consuming it is without it.
The Hanging Tree by Ben Aaronovitch

Always love this series and excuse me for not being a purist but can't wait for the Simon Pegg produced series!
The Four Horsemen: The Conversation That Sparked an Atheist Revolution by Stephen Fry, Daniel C. Dennett, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins

It's a transcript of a conversation which had no contrived direction so anything less than 5 stars would suggest missing the point of the book!
