I now know more about economics. I'm glad that Dickinson switched between character perspectives in this one. Paints a vibrant, confusing picture of the ridiculous farce all the players find themselves swallowed up by.
I have really enjoyed Seth Dickinson's short stories and Exordia in the sci-fi genre, but this fantasy setting and premise didn't really grab me the same way (although it's interesting to see the philosophy of the Masquerade paralleled in the Exordia). However, I did enjoy the character of Baru Cormorant and am interested to see what she accomplishes in the sequel.
