I think I could have liked this book a lot more, had it been shorter and sooo much less drama. In my opinion, too many plot twists were trying to be crammed into what was already a very long book, it was very draining! Thinking of it, this is one of the first love triangles I’ve read and it’s really not my cup of tea, sorry.

I also think I have to call it on college romances. The last few I’ve read, I’ve really struggled with and cannot relate (30 next year and all

took me a while to write this review, as I usually blurt my opinion out immediately after finishing a book. However, I felt this book and the message it delivers needed some real thought.

I went in knowing this was a difficult book to read when it comes to its trigger warnings, so please be prepared and look them up before reading. That being said, it was a beautifully written and I felt a lot of research and time went into putting shared real life experiences into words.

Whilst there is romance in this book, I decided not to rate this due to the trigger warnings on domestic and sexual abuse.

Kennedy did an amazing job at writing and bringing to life the heart breaking realities of domestic abuse. Whilst some might not appreciate the rawness of the story, it does not fail in delivering an important message and raising awareness - I am not even sure a review could do this book justice.

Iris and August, our MC’s had a really long journey and I think that is what this book was about, the journey and where you end up. Iris was such a strong, determined and resilient character even through the hardest of times. August, our MC, may have just been too perfect, with his sweet and honest demeanour. It was odd not seeing our MC’s have a lot of time together, but with this story, it works!

The only slight downfall was at around 75% mark where we saw Iris and August finally reunited, I felt like a lot of scenes were skipped. Especially as there was minimal interactions between the two, in the first 2/3 of the story. I would have loved to have seen more and how their relationship grew.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and would encourage others to do so, with an open mind and being prepared for the content.

Holyyyyy crap! I am not sure I can wait till June 2023 for the 5th book!

This was my first dip back into fantasy after some time and it did not disappoint! I read the first 3 books earlier this year and then only reason I hadn’t read the 4th yet, was because I hate starting incomplete series - patience is not my virtue - but I digress!

⛔️ Slight spoilers ahead ⛔️

This book and series so far is everything. World building. Strong plot. Amazing MC’s. Strong side characters. Great spice! 700 pages was actually not enough.

Auren and Slade, are slowly taking top spot for my favourite book couple. I have adored Auren from book 1. Her wit, strength and determination are even stronger now, then when we were first introduced to her. Throw in the added element of Slade and you have the best power couple. Slade
