“So many women hold themselves up to an unattainable level of beauty, thinking that once they achieve it, they’ll be happy. But the point of life isn’t to look beautiful or even to be happy all the time - that’s impossible. The point of life is to be alive in the world, to feel every emotion, even the messy and painful ones. To challenge yourself, to take risks, to find beauty in the imperfections and be grateful for the opportunity to experience it all.”

Read this book at the beach and it couldn’t be more perfect. This is not spoiling anything but I do find it interesting that Kat’s chapters had some of the best quotes. Like you’d think it would be Blake saying these things and makes me wonder if there was a deeper meaning behind there showing the growth as the story evolved. Either way there was so many amazing quotes in this book. Can’t wait to read more by this author!

This was a sweet heartwarming story about family.

I really liked how the story progresses. How we got a look at both Blake and Kat’s life separately at the beach house. I enjoyed seeing their respective romances and how they ended up with men who were on paper their opposites.

I wish that there had been more interactions between Blake and Kat. I feel like there was so much history built up between them and it just was let go so quickly. I do know that with family and loss, it’s easy to release unnecessary resentments. But I also would have like to see things hashed out more in a conversation.

This is a perfect and easy summer read. It’s a main story about sisters with a side of romance and lots of hints of deeper elements.

A lot of enjoyable moments, but some of the emotions felt much larger and harsher than seemed to make sense. I know grief and emotions don't always make sense, but there were chapters that felt like emotional whiplash. Both Henry and Noah were A+++ characters. It was mostly Kat who drove me crazy.

One of the main characters really rubbed me the wrong way so for me this was just a 3 star read.

I really wanted to like this book. But oh man. Blake and Noah saved it. Loved them, loved their storyline. Their falling out was dumb but expected.
But Kat. Oh boy. She was just awful. The minute she was kinda okay, she was awful again. I skimmed most of her povs and couldn't really root for the Kat and Blake sisterhood.
Like you'd think, 15 years later, you're 27, maybe you'd stop blaming a 12 year old for events way beyond her control.
Felt like Henry should have called her out way more when she talked to him about this. And then suddenly things were all good with Blake? And we brushed a tonnnnn of stuff under the rug? Nah.
I'm also so extremely tired of the influencer trope. It's just old and it took up the first half of Kats pov.
If she'd been even a little more likeable, I'd have given this 4 stars.

This was a perfect beach read! I saved it for my first trip to my favorite beach this summer. Kat and Blake’s tale begins at summer camp. Instead of being thrilled to find out they were sisters, the truth drives a wedge between these two camp bunk mates.
When their dad leaves them the family beach house these two are spitting mad. What ensues is a charming tale of discovery for each character. I enjoyed this two characters and the gentlemen they meet. This one made me both laugh and tear up. A thoroughly enjoyable read!

This was a very cute summer beach house/grown up version of The Parent Trap! If you love that movie, I would recommend this!

Synopsis: I think this one is more fun if you go in somewhat blind because the “twist” takes place in the prologue. In short, this is a story about half sisters who are renovating a beach house after their father leaves it to them in his will.

Thoughts: I liked the concept of this one a lot, but for me the characters were so unlikeable that I couldn’t get invested in the story. One of the sisters, Kat, was so immature and entitled that I truly couldn’t get past it. Also a fair warning if you’re not a fan of a miscommunication trope - the miscommunication in this one is next level. That being said, it was a summery, light read that could definitely get you in the mood for the beach!
