Dangerous Games was an intense game of Tug-of-War. Dangerous Games tugged at my heart. The characters tugged at my soul. The mystery of the abandoned baby tugged at my spirit. Dangerous games tugged at my responsibilities, I would read a chapter and get ready to work and get tugged right back into the book. Dangerous Games grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Any book that can do that deserves more than five stars. So here is to MORE!!

T.K. Leigh wields a wicked pen. She started Asher and Izzy's story in Vegas. She put the characters and this reader through so many emotions. I felt them gut deep. I cried hard. Just when I thought the a happily ever after was just a page away the author created obstacles that the characters had to climb.

There is so much that I want to say, but SPOILER ALERT. Poor Izzy. I can't imagine what it would be like to be with one and love another. To have one night, knowing there would be no more. To love deeply and not have more. To want to ignore the idea of What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. To live knowing you can't have what you desire most.

And when you find that the other person feels the same way but knows it can't happen life becomes a Dangerous game of tug-of-war. Go for the woman and loose the brother. Go for the man and create a rift between brothers. To discover the biggest tug of war had been silent and deliberate, well that is a dangerous game.

Couldn't resist and read it a second time. Still brilliant. Still thrilling. Still gut wrenching. I will admit a couple of issues made me angrier this time around. Some characters URGH!!!

This is an emotional rollercoaster with lots of angst. Asher, Jessie and Izzy have history and the more the story plays out the more tangled the web of their past becomes. Their story has everything, there is forbidden love, second chances, romance, sex, heartbreak, family drama and of course a HEA.

"Maybe our journey needed to be fraught with turmoil, heartache, and anguish so when we finally found our way to each other, we wouldn't take it for granted."

"True love always has a habit of coming back. It's like a boomerang. You can run as far from it as possible, but it will find you."

Oh my word! I can't even! This book took my emotions, my heart into a wringer! I swear, I've never been as engrossed, hooked, so emotionally invested in a story or its characters this much again, until this book! Gawd!

To put it simply, this story, this fucking love triangle-ish, adding the forbidden element is just fucking amazing! Enough said. I felt the agony and the despair of Asher, Izzy and Jessie. There are so many risks to their love story that there will be no way that the other person will not end hurting. I'd be so thoroughly confused and slowly dying inside like Izzy did in this book. I mean, how could you choose when you know this will hurt both of the men you loved? Doubly more so, since they are brothers? Talk about loads of angst and feels galore!

I love all my book boyfriends in varying degrees of intensity, LOL! Right on top is Rhysand of ACOTAR but let me tell you, Asher York is inching closer to that spot. For me, that's saying something.

And oh, the book cover though? This is just how I imagine Asher York. He's the perfect guy for the character. Asher's character is not your usual rockstar. He is devilishly sexy but has the most sensitive soul. I could go on and on waxing poetic, he's just swoon worthy, y'all.

As a first time reading Ms. Leigh, there is no doubt that I have become a fan and will most likely re-read this again. It's just so good. I fucking loved it!

Thanks to the author for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

Izzy falls in love at a young age with Jessie, only to realize she loves his brother Asher more. This is a huge dilemma that follows Izzy the entire book.... should she get in between two brothers that are very close?

What did I like? I loved Asher and Izzy.... they were drawn together by music. He was the songwriter and she was his muse. Nothing else in the story really caught my eye. I felt like there was a lot of outside noise and interference but these two remained the same.

Would I recommend/buy? I’ll be honest here, this is an attractive love story... with a ton of drama. The prequel pretty much tied these two together but the delivery was long in coming. Goodreads won’t give half stars but I’d give it three and a half stars. I just felt like maybe this should have been two books, and not one.

Thoughts for the author? I think I delivered my thoughts, a lot going on in this book to the point of overflowing. The JFK baby, the investigation.... I thought that could have been a spin off. The major attraction was Asher and Izzy, but even that was drawn out.... nothing would have been wrong with Asher meeting her at Sammys. I hope no one views any of this as spoilers.

Dangerous games ARC

Definitely worth 5 ⭐️

“I’ve been searching my entire life for something when it’s been right in front of me all along.”

If you know me personally you know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Musicians, I listen to any kind of music, I love looking at every hot musician out there (especially Asher) and when I saw Dangerous games was about a Musician I had to sign up for the arc. To actually get it was a dream

Asher and Izzy's story is one of heartache, longing but a whole lot of hope.

Asher is Izzy's ex-fiance's older brother, but he's always been more than that to her. They shared a deep connection over music, with Izzy spending more time with Asher when they stayed at his grandmother's lakehouse than with her fiance, Jessie. However, when Izzy and Jessie break up, she loses touch with the whole family.

After running into Asher nearly a decade later in Vegas, they have a one-night stand (this is where I would definitely recommend reading Mind Games first, it explains the circumstances that lead to their night and more of their background together). Asher is on his way to being a big household name in the music industry, but to Izzy he's still her Asher. They part ways once more, thinking that too many people would be hurt if they gave into their feelings.

A year later, Jessie approaches Izzy and asks for her to help Asher write some new songs for his album, not knowing about their shared history. This is where the past meets the present and Asher and Izzy have to work out if they should put their feelings ahead of others they care about or let each other go for good.

I really enjoyed Dangerous Games. It did take me a while to read and I did get slightly frustrated with the will-they-won't-they scenario but in the end it was perfect for them.

I also loved the secondary plot line, which I won't give away, but it really kept me hooked on the story, wanting to solve the case as much as Izzy! The twist at the end I didn't see coming at all!

All in all, this is a great second chance romance read, and although there is that 'taboo' of the ex's older brother, you know that Izzy was always meant to be with Asher, not Jessie and everything worked out in the end because true love will always come back like a boomerang!

Woah,... My heart. I was not expecting that, but I shouldn't be surprised. When it comes to T.K Leigh books, you never get what you expect, you always get so so so much and this book delivered just that. This isn't my first read by this author... I have been making my way through her backlist when I get the free time and I have to say, this is probably my favorite book by her to date.

I absolutely loved Asher, he had my heart from the very beginning and he holds it still. He's the perfect everything. A rock star, a guy who can be sensitive as well as a look that will have you at his feet. He's sexy as hell. The ultimate book boyfriend in my opinion.

I adored Izzy, she was someone I could see myself in... It was both tragic and amazing in one. The girl went through a lot.. and there is SO MUCH I want to dive into her but I won't.

Just know, you will want to punch something or someone throughout the book. The angst level and sexual tension and the off again on again tug of war was giving me crazy, but just when I was about to throw my kindle... The author does what she does best and delivers an ending that had my heart fluttering and me sighing in relief.

This book was high on the push and pull, and had me on the edge of my seat, it was hot, enticing, entertaining and did touch some harder subjects, which is one of the many reasons I love this author's books. She always brings more than just your typical romance to the table and she writes it flawlessly!

A must-read!
