the invisible life of adeline larue was a masterpiece. this book is like one big, beautiful flowing poem. the only thing i didn’t like about it was in the (3rd or 4th???) part of the book it was just about henry and his past, like it could’ve been summed up for a chapter or two but a whole part? like i didn’t care that much lmao. but other than that wowowow you need to give it a read because the relationship between addie, henry, and luc is just >>>> wow. i love addies story and how it shows her past and how she’s had to get through as a woman, where no one can remember her. addie and luc’s relationship is toxic but i love it at some points , addie and HENRY’s relationship on the other hand, um can they get married please if she doesn’t marry him i will bye ✋ also just the setting is so beautiful like omg and addie is a #girlboss . this book had no right playing with my emotions like that. and all the quotes u can find in this book just ugh 😩

Wonderful purple prose, love that it’s enemies to lovers, the ending was okay but not great.
I LOVED that she didn’t get with Henry because he is such a dry and boring character
It’s very Caucasian but still a very good read

Schwab has managed to write so fluidly and immersively that despite the narration not being in first person, every time I had to break away from reading I would forget that I am not
living under the same curse as the narrator, because Schwab introduces the idea of the curse and its rules and development and aftermath (or lack thereof) so well
(spoiler free comment: living the same life as the narrator).

"You think it will get easier," he says. "It will not. You are as good as gone, and every year you live will feel a lifetime, and in every lifetime, you will be forgotten. Your pain is meaningless. Your life is meaningless. The years will be like weights around your ankles. They will crush you, bit by bit, and when you cannot stand it you will beg me to put you from your misery."

I read this book without knowing much about it. Because of this I didn’t know what to expect. But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
The idea of the curse is interesting, and it had some good parts. But the author could have done much more with the 300 years. I would have liked more places, not only Europe, UK, and the USA. Also, I would have loved more historical events, how Addie would have navigated her way through it and how Luc would have made her life harder so she would surrender. This power play could have been so much more.
But having said that: Luc definitely stole the show.
I wasn’t sure about him at first, but at the end I wanted to read more about him. For me, he was more interesting than Henry and Addie. The fights, sarcasm and ups and downs between him and Addie were way more entertaining than the plot twists and relationship between her and Henry. Which isn’t ideal because she was supposed to be in love with Henry, but I didn’t get the same chemistry as I got from her and Luc.
To sum it up, it could have done more with the curse and the 300-year journey but I still really enjoyed it. The events between the dark (Luc) and Addie are really great and the book is worth giving a shot.

“Do not mistake this kindness. I simply want to be the one who breaks you.”

How do I describe a book that I loved every minute of and yet it seemed to drag on forever?

I loved the writing of this book, and the story, and the characters. I think I enjoyed every moment I spent reading it, though still thought it was never-ending. The actual ending went by incredibly quickly, which is when the final pieces start to come into place.

Currently can't think of very much to say in all honesty. The ending (right before the real ending) absolutely ruined me and I sobbed for at least half an hour. The mischievous/bittersweet ending was good all the same.
