When all is said and done, I loved this story. I would warn readers going into this, it isn’t your normal every day romance. This story is dense. It has so much richly detailed dialogue and emotion.

I’d almost classify this as intelligent erotica.

Because of that emotional weight, it was difficult for me to get through. It made me uncomfortable, it was lyrical and almost poetic in prose. The first chapter threw me for a loop, and didn’t match the next few chapters. I was confused.

But then the end came, and it was like the most beautiful light shown down on the story, and I was once again deeply impressed with Charlotte Stein’s writing.

Her heroes are always amazing. Giant in stature, sensitive in heart. And those intimate scenes. Holy hell!

This story had humor, insecurities, raw vulnerabilities, and wonderful communication. Ends with such a lovely hea.

Why not five stars? Because the first chapter felt unnecessary and weird. Because at times, the plot felt disjointed and occasionally awkward. But when it was good, it was so good.

This author doesn't always take me on the journey I expect when I start the book, and yet she's one of my favourite erotica authors. Her character development through this story is fantastic, the sex is hot and the story ends up being truly sweet.

Charlotte Stein's books are usually a hit or miss for me. This isn't a hit, unfortunately. I managed to finish because it's a short read. I couldn't connect with any of the characters. The author writes the thoughts of the FMC so beautifully though, even during the steamy parts of the book.

This was terrible! There was no back story until the last chapter or so, pure sex, which wasn't even that good! Not worth the one star.

Charlotte Stein is the only author where I buy all her books, sight unseen, description unread. I don't care what it's about. I don't even have to know, but I ABSOULUTELY 100% know it's going to be amazing and that I will love it. It's like she is inside my head and knows all my deep dark secrets and makes them into stories. I always fall head over heels in love with her heroes, and I certainly wouldn't mind swapping places with her heroines ;)

Please please please don't ever stop writing!

Coming up: all my blabber about how much I enjoyed reading this.

I'm a slow reader (subjective) and I finish this author's books faster than others. I just want to know what happens, what is weekday sleep I don't care.

There's not much that happens in the book besides these 2 MCs meeting and being together, overcoming their internal conflicts to get to their HFN. It was perfect.

I am so in love with this book right now! Charlotte Stein is a master at writing erotic romance. Just like other Charlotte Stein books I soaked up every word she wrote in Addicted. This is a great story about sexual exploration and awakening for our heroine Kit. I also think this book is about trust between Kit & Dillon. Kit is a shy, quiet, witty, maybe even a little socially awkward woman who's also happens to be a librarian. Then comes along Dillon Holt *sigh*. He's a wicked hot laid back guy with tattoo's who loves sex. Here's one (or 2) of my favorite Dillon quote's from the book:

"No, baby. It gets me off to see you not knowing a single damed thing about yourself, and getting to be the guy who makes sure you learn. Because I am that guy, I promise you that..." *holy fucking swoon*

"I'll say it right now - I love eating pussy. I could eat it all day everyday until the end of time, just to get a girl all flushed the way she gets, and hear those little soft, desperate moans or maybe even loud, aggressive ones...I don't mind. Pull my hair, call me names, sit on my face, I'll take it and come back for more..." *fans self* HOT right!

Charlotte Stein has a way of writing sex so it's not just a quick fuck or a wham bam thank you mam type of thing. She really thinks about the type of characters she's writing and puts feelings and realism into them and the relationships they have.

I've never ever been disappointed in a book Charlotte Stein has written. I could go on forever about how amazing this book is but, I won't. I'll just say that I think everyone should read Addicted. It's such a thoughtful well written book and I know you'll love it!

3.5 stars.

This book started off so great. I loved, loved, loved Kit's inner voice. It was funny and seemed spot on for her imaginative yet somewhat repressed self. The problem for me with the book, as it turns out, there was simply too much of Kit's inner voice. Her thoughts were too....thoughty. Everything she experienced had to be compared via simile and metaphor to at least 3 other things...albeit in a funny way. This works very well when you are being introduced to the person she is. It begins to interfere when you want know what is happening around her. So as the book progressed I became impatient with her inner voice.

I will give it up to this author for two things. She writes great sex scenes and she uses words really well to create vivid pictures. When Kit first describes Dillon, I could really see him not just his physical attributes but other things about him like his posture and how he inhabited his space.

And although the descriptions and scene painting is stellar, I found the dialogue a bit of a bust. At the end when Kit is trying to get Dillon to open up I felt very frustrated with how they communicated. It felt fuzzy and inarticulate. I wish that some of the clarity that shone through when Kit was in her head and had made it through the characters' conversation.

I will say, with appreciation, that this book feels like what I believe an erotica romance should really read like. It is a very intimate two person character study, I don't believe any other characters make an appearance after about chapter four. And while the plot is fairly simple -- a very sexually experienced man aims to loosen up the more repressed, sexually disenchanted woman -- it is really the sex that is the focus of the story.

The author allows her characters to really luxuriate in the sexual experience. Dillon is written as a man who unabashedly appreciates women. Refreshingly, he is not trying to dominate or control. In fact, the author pokes a little good-natured fun at the 'Millionaire Master' trope. Dillon just wants them both to really enjoy the sex. So he sets himself out to make sure they do. Through the frankness of their sexual intimacy they begin to build and emotional bond and a real relationship. Kit develops a satisfying sexual freedom and new found appreciation. While Dillon finds in Kit the person who makes sex feel more meaningful for him.

While Dillon and Kit are in love and end with an HEA, I don't think the ending of the book as was as strong as the beginning.

Another great book from Charlotte Stein. I love how she combines the really incredible smut parts with touching and real emotions. Kat is a shy and awkward librarian who is always doubting herself and is unable to voice her sexual needs. Dillon is also full of insecurities and doesn't share himself easily. And together their story is just magnificent, they bring out the best in each other and learn how to blossom through love.
