Here we go again. I think I might be officially losing my mind. I've read 10 R.S. Grey books in aproximately two weeks and that's a lot but I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I've been loving these books so much.
Unfortunately this one just wasn't the right fit. I found every single character to be so annoying. We get a story about Madeleine who is Lucas' sister and Daisy's bff so we already have a little backround about her. But even though I really liked her and Daisy with Lucas, they were annoying as hell.

Madeleine just wasn't my cup of tea, she was too indecisive and idk jumpy? Sometimes she could be funny but I didn't like her much.
As for Adam I liked him a bit more than Madeleine but he wasn't a fav either. I really thought he was a jerk at the beginning and I was so mad when he was leading Madeleine on. He said he wasn't ready to date but not even one second later he was all over her. Also consent.. I know it was the 'I said no but I meant yes' kinda thing but still, she said no and he was still at it.

I'm not saying I hated the book. Not at all it was pretty easy to read and interesting enough for me to stay up until 3 a.m. It just didn't blow my socks off.

**4.5 STARS!

This kept me up way too late at night, but I couldn't stop smiling and dying laughing and swooning and OH MY GOD, where is my Adam?

Adam and Madeleine have made their way to my heart and I am here for it! Their story was my favorite compared to last's and it probably had to do with the fact that this baby was hilarious as hell! I seriously had to put my kindle down for fear that it would fall while I doubled over in laughter. though Madeleine could be the most awkward person ever, she thinks and says the most relatable and darned things! This book just made me so damn happy, I couldn't stop smiling!

The Foxe & the Hound wasn't a heavy book with heavy subjects. Though Adam does move to the town of Hamilton, TX to move past his cheating fiancee, this story was more of a character-driven story. I loved it so much more because of it! I think that's what made me fall harder for these characters, including Mouse! Everyone had their own awesome personality, both MC's and the side characters, which made this story much more lively and enjoyable. I truly felt like part of the clan.

R.S. Grey just kills it once again and I'm so glad to have met these characters! She is one of the few authors whose books make me feel instantly better and I will never not pick them up!

If you're looking for a fun and fast-paced story with a bit of angst, a hot vet, a dog too big for his own good, and hilarious uses for kitchen appliances, then this book is your book!

RS Grey is never a disappointment. Her books capture the fun, lively side of romance. This one is no exception. It had me laughing all the way through. Madeline & Adam meet in a very unfortunate way, with Maddy’s huge puppy dirtying up a nice suited Adam. Their adventures are comical & a little over the top, but not annoyingly so. By the end, you want more of these two. The book is a quick read, you will want to pick up when you have a couple of hours to spare as you won’t want to put it down.

The Foxe & the Hound was a great light-hearted and quick summer read. It was a sweet story about Madeleine and Adam- the handsome new veterinarian who arrives in her small town in Texas. It’s a standalone book but characters from Anything You Can Do make an appearance, so I would suggest reading that one first.

At 27 years old Madeleine is still struggling to figure out adulating. She doesn’t pay her rent on time, drives a piece of crap car that’s held together with duct tape and a prayer and feels like she should be closer to figuring things out at her age. And then along comes Adam who isn’t just handsome put seems like he’s got his life together.

I struggled a bit with Madeleine. Sometimes she seemed like her own worst enemy and I wanted to see her get out of her way. It would have been easier to believe that she was just out of high school vs. her late twenties. It seemed that when things weren’t going her way she was either quick to jump into “nothing good every happens to me” headspace or blame everyone else for her problems and act immaturely.

“I hate Diane. I fling her cinnamon roll out into the pasture—I will not eat the bread of my enemies, and that’s exactly what she is if she wants Adam to sit down with Olivia. He loved her for so many years. God, he probably still loves her. If they see each other, all those feelings are going to come flooding back, and the fact that she brought Molly—that underhanded bitch knew exactly what she was doing. I stomp out into the pasture and kick the cinnamon roll another ten feet. It feels good to demolish something, though I am now admittedly starving.”

The book opens with Madeleine’s dog basically mauling Adam; he berates her dog-parenting skills only to find out in the next chapter that he’s the new vet. Their first meeting has all the ingredients to be a typical meet cute but Adam’s crusty response gives it a great twist. I love that their immediate dislike of each other leads to a bit of an enemies to friends to lover’s plot.

Adam is finding adapting to small town life isn’t happening as quickly as he thought He’s handsome and professional although he’s a bit grumpy and easily annoyed. Every woman in town is interested in flirting and he just wants to settle in and recover from his life in Chicago. I really liked Adam a lot. I have such a soft spot for a grumpy hero.

The best character in the entire book was Madeleine’s dog, Mouse. He was just adorable. I could picture him exactly and he and Madeleine were a perfect match.

Overall, the book drama is all very predictable, miscommunication and surprise arrivals of exes but neither drags on for an excruciating length of time.

I didn’t find this book as laugh out loud funny as R.S. Grey’s previous books but it was still cute and sweet especially if you’re a dog lover or looking for a slow-burn book that isn’t the length of a Mariana Zapata.

Meeting the Characters
Dr. Adam Foxe
Madeline
----------------------------------
What happens?
Madeline is a struggling real estate agent, she needs to sign and sell more houses in order to keep her job and prove to herself she isn't a loser.
Dr Adam Foxe doesn't help this by being the unlucky person to be run over and knocked into mud by Madeline's rescue dog Mouse. Mouse helps to build their relationship together while Madeline tries to get Adam to let her sell him a house.
Final thoughts
I thought this was sweet. No not perfect, other reviews said about the dog size; yes sort of made me think what? But its not the focus of the book so I didn't focus on it... I do like the addition of the dog especially when no harm comes to the dog.
I thought Madeline came across as naive and she was starting to make me lose it with her, its a bit like the author makes her a typical rom com female lead where everything bad happens to her and shes still positive in attitude and nothing can get her down.
Adam starts off a prick. He gets better and I think hes probably the best male lead Grey has written in all honesty. I felt like he was mature and not awful the entire time to her, actually pretty nice most of the time.
Would I read again?: Yes
Would I read this author again?: Yes
Would I continue on with the series?: N/A

hmm.. I liked this book.. But I also kind of hated it. I loved the idea behind the story. She goes and adopts a dog that she really has no idea how to take care of. She finds a nice vet who can help her out and they fall in love. That's freaking adorable. Buuuuuuut I hated Madeleine. She stressed me out. I am by no means a put together person. Seriously I have a child, 2 if you count my husband, AND I DO. So my life in generally is chaotic and amazing. I would never bake my landlord bread because I couldn't pay rent. I absolutely do NOT put clothes in my oven. She was a freaking mess and she didn't seem to care all that much. I think that's what bothered me. She really didn't try to get her shit together. At 27 you are adult enough to know you have to pay rent. She is a real estate agent but has only sold 1 house. Instead of complaining about co workers, maybe she should have put more effort into it. Or I don't know, find a job she actually wanted. Or at least one that had a steady pay check until she could find her dream job.

Okay so yeah. Madeleine was my big issue with this book. There were a lot of funny parts and it was still cute but it just wasn't my favorite.

Another gem by the amazing R.S GREY !!!
I can't get enough of her books !!!
In The Fox and the Hound you get to know better Lucas's sister and Daisy's best friend Madeleine. And the handsome new vet Adam Foxe !

I read this book in almost one sitting =) but I wanted to stay a little longer with the characters.
Adam is sweet, sexy and knows how to cook. Madeleine is messy, sarcastic and beautiful.
I don't want to spoiler anything so I'll just leave it at that haha

Just read this book !!! I recommend to read Anything You Can Do first since you'll have references about characters in the previous book.

R.S Grey is on my top5 authors, I will read anything she will write really ! Every time I read one of her books I am left smiling like a lunatic, laughing out loud and blushing all at the same time.
I don't know how Rachel does it but she is a beautiful storyteller and I can't wait for her next masterpiece !
